Met with a Florist Today...for those of you using real flowers...

How much did you spend/are you spending on reception centerpieces? I'm thinking what she quoted me for 14 centerpieces was high. I have my own eiffel tower vases. She quoted me a little over $400 (something like $420-430) for the flowers and a small bowl that would go on top of the eiffel (to get the fuller flower arrangement because the eiffel towers have such a small opening). Also, this is a DIY flower shop (we're doing a "flower party" to help make the arrangements to cut costs).

The ceremony flowers were a great price (I think). A little over $400 (this is seperate from the reception centerpieces) for my bouquet, 4 BM bouquets, 3 pin corsages (for mothers and grandmother), 12 boutonnieres, rose petals for 2 flower girls and 2 church centerpieces that will go in our standing vases.

So, around $800-$850 total (for DIY...flower party with her help). The reception seems very high. Maybe I'm just off on what flowers cost.

Way too high, especially for DIY. My florist quoted us $150 - 200; nothing too big or small.

Do you have a Sam's Club or Costco? They have bridal packages with loose DIY flowers! Check into that!

My florist said doing center pieces like this cuts costs bc your using less flowers and its prettier. She's gonna put some floating candles on top and around the base. Ask if they do this way, if you like itSmiley smile

If you mean $400 for all the centerpieces -- my god jump on it before she comes to her senses and / or changes her mind! if that is for all -- that is $28.57 each -- which is unheard of!

Sundaycupcake-Just over $400 for 14 centerpieces. I have the eiffel towers. It would be for the flowers which include roses, another flower and branches, and the top bowl.

The flower centerpieces aren't elaborate. There are just enough flowers, but not a ton. I know it's hard to say if it's expensive or not without seeing them.

Ashlee g-That makes me feel much better. Yes, it is around $28-$30 each. Not including the eiffel tower, because I have those.

Maybe they aren't so bad. I thought they were Smiley smile

Yes to what Ashlee said, if I understood it correctly. Unless it's one single flower, it's a great price.

OMG! I found the pic on her website! It is above. That would be what sits on the top of the eiffel tower vase. They would be pink roses, and a second pink flower.

Thanks, Mrs. S. I think when it comes to the price of flowers, I must be very, very clueless Smiley smile

I was quoted 700 for 2 BM, me, groom, 2gm and parent flowers .... I'm doing them myself lol

My centerpieces are 10-12 a piece, once again doing myself because I was quoted 45 a piece if I supplied my own vase....

I was quoted around $750 for

    my bouquet

    7 BM

    7 bouts

2 ultra large alter pieces for the church

10 pumpkins centerpieces filled with flowers

    4 special guest corsages

I can't not remember the actual price on my center pieces but I was told it would save money if i gutted the pumpkins out myself (was planning on doing it anyways myself)

I don't think for the 10 it was outrageous. if I can find it tomorrow I'll post it; FH has it in a safe spot I am not the organized one in the relationship Smiley smile

I agree the $400 sounds high UNTIL you divide it by 14. Per centerpiece, I think that's pretty darn good.

Yes, that's a good price. Flowers are expensive! We spent about $450 and got a ton of flowers, but we picked most off the side of the road and my aunt did ALL the work for them!

Mine is quite a bit higher than that. We expect 200 people, so 20 centerpieces which are pretty elaborate. We will have our ceremony flowers, plus bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres. I expected it to be higher since it is the middle of winter.

Its good...I am using my bouquet for the sweetheart table and using my bridesmaids bouquets for centerpieces for 6 tables. That will cut down costs. We have 2 different centerpieces.

That's a great price! Both for the items she is doing for you, and for your DIY flower party.

You are getting tall centerpieces for the price that would normally be charged for a very small, modest centerpiece. I also work with DIY brides, and that is a great deal.

    Feel good about it!

These prices all sound like steals to me lol I guess none of you are from Miami, Fl Lol

My best friend is doing the all the flower arrangements for me and not charging me labor, just the actual cost of the flowers and I'm still at $2,100 for 24 centerpieces, 4 small cocktail centerpieces, 8 BM bouquets, 10 boutonnieres, 2 corsages, my bouquet and our sweetheart table. That's a huge bargain here in Miami lol

So to echo Mrs. S and the other ladies, jump on it!!!! Lol
