Lily

In case anyone is wondering if Match.com works... The answer is YES! :) In late January of 2010, we met each other through Match.com and began exchanging emails. From the way she tells it, she was almost done with Match, as she had a couple of "future funny story" experiences. She was slow to respond to one of my emails, but I sent her a quick note wishing her a good weekend with a joke in it. She said that I made her laugh and smile, so she gave me her personal email address before she signed out of Match for the last time. After talking on the phone a few times, Lily came to a New World School of the Arts Wind Ensemble concert at Hialeah High School. We met face to face and reaffirmed our date for Saturday night. On Saturday, February 6, 2010, we had the best first date of our lives, and our lives were changed forever! We had an excellent & romantic dinner at Coopers in South Dade followed by a movie at The Falls, where I surprised her with our first kiss in the car as we were getting out :)  We ended that first date knowing that we had indeed found someone special, someone worthy of our deepest love, someone to hold onto forever. Fast forward to Saturday, March 24, 2012, shortly after our two year anniversary. Little did Lily know... Her cousin Anabel's anniversary party was really a cover for our engagement party! I surprised her with "Un Gran Plan," which was an elaborate secret plan involving her cousins Javier, Yani, Anabel, and her younger cousin Dianita. Lily's Tia Nella hosted the party, and David was the video and audio engineer. Both sides of Lily's family were there along with my parents and brother Dean & his family. Our good friends were secretly invited and snuck in last-minute for the video: (1) a fake Match.com commercial starring Lily and me, (2) a picture collage of us over our two years together, (3) a video of me asking Ernesto y Olidia for La Bendicíon en Español, and (4) A karaoke version of "The Best Is Yet To Come" in the style of Frank Sinatra. Yes. I sang the tune to Lily live in front of all our friends and family... In a tuxedo handing her a Lily flower! After that I got on one knee and asked her that important question, and she said YES! We're excited about being united in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. Along with our beagles Buster and Milo, we're planning a life of happiness, excitement, joy, and especially love.
