Mermaid sexy vs traditional princess ball gown

When i first started looking for dresses I knew I wanted the huge ball gown cinderella type dress. But then I started looking at the mermaid sexy style and i am so in between. If i was a bride on platinum weddings i'd choose 2. Unfortunately im on a budget... HELP!

I agree with the other ladies that said you will know when you actually try it on because i didn't even consider off the shoulder as a style for me but i knew i didn't want strapless and the trumpet dress that i tried on just happened to be off the shoulder and i loved it right when i put it on and didn't try on anything else! Smiley laugh

    @ Kelsey J...love it!!!

    .

Personally I love the mermaid sexy dress. If you got it...flaunt it Smiley winking However, i agree with everyone else that you should try both styles on so that you can know which one works best for you. Good luck Smiley winking

I would try on both styles. I would also try on a trumpet style (its kind of a mix between the two). Then I would just pick the one you love. You won't know until you try on all the styles. Smiley smile

Heartsead- thats gorgeous! And Brittany- I'm in the same boat.. im looking today also. My only fear is that mermaid and trumpet styles are trendy now, and that in 30 years, I won't be looking back and laughing. I say this and watch today i try on a dress that give me a bod and im sold!

Shdvl definitely try on both. maybe even tell the girl helping you at the store to get one that she thinks would look good on you. sometimes they can really hit the nail on the head! lol. but definitely try them on, because there was one type of dress that i loved, then tried on to find out that it looked horrible on me. (I have scoliosis so it showed my crooked back to much!) lol

Just tried on a trumpet style today. I did not think I would like it but it is really flattering and makes me feel like a movie star. Doesn't hurt to try it on?!

I personally LOVE the mermaid style dresses! i think you just have to choose which one you can be comfortable in and which one you feel that is you and also which one fits better with your wedding style.
