Men’s Suits - What did you do??😊

FH’s suit is the J Crew Ludlow, a very good choice for shorter or slim men. Because he’s only 5’2 he actually fit into the teen sizes and combined with a coupon he got his wonderful classy suit for $100. It’s worth keeping an eye on sales and stacking coupons!

We went through Men's Wearhouse, they have a special on suits where if you rent 6 the Groom gets a free fitted suit so we did that. He is super excited to have a new suit to keep!

FH is in a wedding this weekend and the bride required them to buy their suits. And honestly i think that is rude and unnecessary (UNLESS the buying the suit is cheaper then renting one).. Now this is just us and our opinion but FH spent $300 on a suit he will NEVER wear again (because its grey and FH also just isn't a suit person and never will be, were not even doing suits for our own wedding LOL)...

If its absolutely necessary they buy a suit instead of rent one, please just make sure its a black or something wearable in the future.

FH, his groomsmen, and my dad all bought suits from Macy's! They were only $109.99 on sale. We were wanting a little brighter and lighter than navy, and these were perfect! They're Kenneth Cole "bright blue". Macy's has a ton of suits for great prices! Belk, also, has a lot of good options.

We went with Men's Wearhouse- with 9 guys in 3 different states it really helped us out. With MW if you get 7 people dressed in your party the groom gets his rental for free after deposit rebate.

For all of our guys we opted with all black with a silver tie.

We used the black tux and highly recommend them. The groom gets a free home try-on and there is a great tutorial for getting the measurements. Customer service was very helpful and quick to respond too.

Our guys are also wearing navy suits. They bought theirs from The Groomsman Suit, which is online. They have a try at home option, for free, so you can make sure you get the perfect size before you purchase. The suits are gorgeous, amazing quality, and in my opinion a really great price. They bought their shirts from Brooks Brothers.

We went with generation tux. We did the at home try on for black tux and generation tux (both are free) and my FH liked the generation tux better. It was slim fit, which he prefers.

My husband wanted to buy it and we went to sooooo many places because we wanted an specific blue so we ended up doing a costume tux. As for our shopping adventure some of my favorite places for buying was Nordstrom. For rental I find local shops and boutique have better deal and better quality than men warehouse.

Our guys are buying suits from Jos A Banks. It was cheaper than renting, and you can go in at any time and make a group listing anyone needing a suit (we offered suits for the dad in a different color) and lock in the current price. We started with $250 traveler's suits, then switched to $300 custom, and ended up getting the traveler's suits for $200 when they had an amazing deal. We're buying ties and probably white shirts for everyone.

Last time my boyfriend bought a suit from these guys was about 5 years ago and he wore it for everything. Only reason he bought a new one is because it got to tight on him from going to the gym

My husband asked his 4 groomsmen and our groomsmen decided to buy black, custom fitted suits from Indochino. Then when our Dads asked what to wear we offered the same Indochino suits and they opted in for that as well. We have a showroom here in Charlotte and there was one in Chicago (near my Dad) and the rest of the guys ordered online. I’m sure it helped that we were doing a classic black suit, many guys don’t mind investing in another one of those. Suits turned our really well and the customer service was great. If you go that route, google for a coupon there are many sites out there doing discounts for first time customers.
My husband ended up buying a tux. I can’t recall the brand at the moment, but it is a classic brand (yet not J Crew because the lapels were not to his taste).

Friar Tux was great! Excellent selection (including color tuxes), hemmed the pants too. But maybe only in CA or west coast?

My husband went in to a brick & mortar tailor to have his navy suit custom made. He splurged a little since it was for the wedding and figured he would also be able to wear it to more special occasions in the future. Our groomsmen rented their light gray suits from the Black Tux without any issue.

We will be using menguin
