MD Bridal Consignment Shops? Need a dress under $200!

Shanice, on April 22, 2014 at 6:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

So I'm looking for a nice dress for under $200. All of the dresses at David's Bridal in my price range are not my style, and I don't want to spend money on something I don't like especially since I'll be photographed in it. I super leary of buying a dress online, because I just had a baby in January, and my body isn't the same, and I HAVE to try everything on before I buy it. Does anyone know of a nice bridal consignment shop in the Maryland area? Does a normal consignment dress run you more than $200? I think I will check out I Do I Do Wedding Gowns in Gaithersburg, but I wanted to know if anyone knew of any others? Thanks for your help!!

I can't help you with finding one in your area, but I can say that the ones I went to did have dresses under $200, and dresses over that amount. I got mine at a bridal consignment shop in Oregon, and it ran me $300. Good luck!

Hmm.... what style are you looking for Shanice, and have you gone into a David's Bridal to try on some dresses? I know that the 1 thing I said at my briday fitting was, "The only fabric I'm not a fan of is chiffon, but I won't count it out. Just make it a last resort." And guess what I'm wearing.....chiffon. And it is fab! The right bridal assistant may help you show off all your new curves in a design you wouldn't have liked.

Thanks Carmella!! $300 wouldn't be too bad if I was absolutely in love with this dress, but that's probably the highest I'd go.

Mrs.Droopy, I really like lace mermaid/fit & flare types of styles. The dresses I saw online from David's Bridal that I thought would be worth trying on are over $400, but I still didn't see one that I just HAD to try on. I definitely would love something to show off my new found hips though!! Thanks for the advice!

You're so welcome Shanice. If you want my humble opinion, you are absolutely gorgeous. You could wear a potato sack to your wedding and still look good. Happy shopping.

Aww thanks you're so sweet Karen!! The FH said he'd be happy if I walked down the aisle with nothing on, but I told him that really wasn't an option LOL

Well I really appreciate it Karen! Thanks again for sending me the link to St. Anthony's!! I had never heard of them, and $150 for a dress is not a bad deal at all!! I'm definitely going to check them out!

I was just going to post about St. Anthony's! They have a huge selection of wedding gowns, veils, wraps, and mother of the brides dresses. Veils start at $30 and MOB dresses are $35. I got my veil there for $40 and my Mom bought her dress there. It's a bit crowded there sometimes, but definitely worth it. Good luck!

Shanice, go to DB and try a few on .. you might be shocked at what you think will look good or what you thought you might like,.,. try some on and then it's easier to search for the bargin on that dress.. We are here to help you in anyway we can but I too tried on a few dresses that I thought would look horrible and bought one I never thought would look good!!
