Master Thesis and Wedding

Anonymous, on May 20, 2012 at 2:36 AM Posted in Planning 0 13

I was wondering if there are any other WW brides out there who are writing their master thesis and getting married.

It is like you are getting 2 Masters. Weddings are a huge amount of work. There are ways to do it easier and quickly. I can plan a wedding in 12 days. (I have 28 years experience)

Let me know if you have questions. Do not do it alone. When you walk down the isle you need to be awake.

Not writing a thesis, but will be working on my capstone project for my MBA while finishing up the wedding. I'm actually getting married 6 days before my graduation. Not easy, but doable.

Hi- I had 10 college credits and one was including a capstone... which was a 20 page paper and I wrote it on the origins of wedding traditions! I work full time, planned a wedding, we have a 4 year old, finance' out of town Mon-Friday for work, and I had school, oh yeah and going to the gym, daughters dance and gymnastics... Life was crazy but as of Saturday I graduated, next Thursday our little girl turns 5, and then the next weekend we are getting married! I found that even though it was hard and I had very little time I tried not to get down or too stressed. I just tried to remember how thankful I am for my family, education and that I have a job Smiley smile

The only thing that really got to me was people who are not even busy complaining about being busy... it got a little bad attitude sometimes like "everyone has to clean, everyone has to grocery shop, most people work..." I found myself getting really annoyed with the complaints really fast in the end. It was all worth it though!

Not writing a thesis but good luck! That's exciting and stressful. Kari B., way to hit two birds with one stone - planning your wedding, compiling the research, and then writing a small book about! THat's awesome! lol And those people with the bad attitudes apparently weren't busy enough and hadn't tried to plan a wedding with such a cramped schedule. Some people...smh.

I am writing my doctoral dissertation right now (scheduled to defend in August), we're moving from Kansas to Dallas so I can start a new job as soon as that's done and getting married back in Kansas in September. It's going to be hell but we'll survive!! I completely understand the stress you're under. You can do it!

Also some planners will sit down with you for a few hours at a fraction of the cost and help you.

    Blessings !

No thesis but studying for medical boards and beginning rotations all within 3 months before the wedding. We just have to have organization and time management.

Speaking of....I should probably be studying.

We got engaged 12/10 and decided to do a long engagement so that I could graduate that August and still have a year to plan the wedding. Surprise surprise, I did the majority of the wedding planning those first 8 months while still working on my final credits/ thesis. Now that I have more time, I'm far less productive Smiley smile

Oh, my goodness! No, I still have some time in school before I get to that point. But good luck to you! I know you can do it!

Theses are hard without the other stuff, so kudos to you for doing the thesis and all the other stuff!

I'm finishing up my master thesis. I'm so close to being down but it is literally pulling teeth for me to sit down and finish.

Nursing school while planning (nowhere near as hard as a master thesis- but time consuming no less)!

GOOD LUCK to all of you crazy, intelligent, focused Brides. You'll all do amazing things!!!
