Massachusetts (or RI) Budget Brides 10K and under club!

Private User, on February 15, 2012 at 12:53 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 21

Hey All! I am just curious who out there has actually be successful with a 10k budget. (preferably even closer to 7k) I feel like it is impossible in Rhode Island, but maybe doable in MA? We are looking at a 100 person guest list, and are still looking at venues but I am feeling quite discouraged and could use some positive stories for you all out there.

What was your budget? Any vendors in particular go out of their way to help you stay with it? I would love to hear some promising things.

Oh god - that is not how I hoped this would go Smiley sad

RI has statistically high wedding costs, but I love RI - MA is where I lay some of my hope, my family is from Western MA and I have been thinking about my mom's backyard... things are literally 1/2 the cost there, like a tent for instance.

2nd bride got married (I think in MA).. and I think on a budget... she will probably respond to this.. otherwise PM her Smiley smile... I am on the northshore, so western MA might be better as it is further from Boston..

Hi, I live in the south shore of MA and we spent a lot of time hunting in the MA/RI area. We are actually getting married in ME, rented a house for the weekend. Places I liked in RI and MA that would work for a 10k budget are listed below, happy hunting!

These are all owned by the cities they are located in, making them much more affordable

I really wanted to get married at the towers in Narraganset but I wasn't willing to budge on the Saturday.

    Sami - thank you!!!!

I LOVE the providence casino and botanical gardens, they are just more than I think will work in my budget... the Ames Masion - I have never heard of & I am a wedding photographer - very very interesting. I may just have to check this one out! Thank you so much!

Not the answer you were hoping for but...MA is right up there. Since I started the planning process I have realized that for 150 people I am not going to get out of this for less than 20k. Probably closer to 25k, and I am doing a lot of things myself. I am also looking everywhere from the cape to Maine. I have found that the average price to feed this amount of people will be around 15k.

    Good Luck!!!

    Thanks Nicole,

My family is in Western Ma which is surprisingly much cheaper than RI & the Boston area. I'm just not sure we want to go back out that way. I haven't given up yet and am still determined to make this budget work Smiley smile

New comer to the site and happened across this post....I am assuming your venue has since been selected since last post. But I am also having budget conscious wedding, and my guest list is around 200 and I am coming in around 12K or so. If you need any suggestions I can share.

Just found our venue in Cohasset, MA for only $950 and you can bring in your own caterer, it's the Cohasset Lightkeeper's house and looks right over the harbor and fits 100 people.

I am trying to stick to a $10K-$12K budget in RI for our wedding. We are trying to set up appointments with some venues in Narragansett/Warwick but I would really appreciate any advice from others. I would also consider locations on the South Shore of MA. We are looking to get married the end of June 2014 and will probably have 80 people or so. Thanks!

Hey Gregg! Try the North Beach Clubhouse. It's right on the beach and a total steal. You just have to keep your event to under 100 people. Good luck!

North Beach Clubhouse in Narragansett, RI . Fits 100 people including service staff. Beach front property for $1,100 in season. $900 out of season. Will let you bring in your own caterer and liquor. Its a plain clubhouse but has a huge deck overlooking the ocean. You could easily get married for 10K in RI.

We are keeping it under 10k and looked at some places in Warwick, RI. We are going to a place that we don't pay for all just the food. That alone keeps some cost down. Check the West Valley Inn out

I am just recently engaged and hoping to plan a wedding for around 120 people for under $10k, hopefully in cape Cod, but I am open to other suggestions in order to keep the cost to my goal. I would like to have a water view if we can. any suggestions in MA?

Do you mind sharing the house you rented? I am looking to do the same thing? How many people did you invite?
