Masquerade Wedding!

Tiffany , on March 7, 2016 at 12:21 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 27

I am planning my Masquerade Wedding for next year and continue to run into the same problem. My wedding colors are Tiffany Blue and Fuchsia and all the bridal party will be wearing masks to go with the theme. My fiancée and I will also being wearing one. Now I was recently in New Orleans and found the PERFECT Tiffany Blue mask for myself, but now I am thinking I should be more traditional and wear a white mask. But then again masquerade wedding isn't very traditional. What are your thoughts.

Why would you want your face covered in all of your wedding photos?

What OKD said.. its a little strange for a wedding. I wouldn't participate likely until I was drunk.

What if you just wore it while walking into the reception venue and for a few dances/fun later in the evening? You don't want to have your face covered during the ceremony or first dance or any other picture opportunities!

I don't really have anything to add here, just that I've ALWAYS wanted to go to a masquerade party! Sounds so fun!

I will not be wearing it the whole time. In a few photos and during the reception at times. But it is mainly just a decoration.

...... What is the same problem you continue to run into?

I guess my only advice is get whatever mask you want if that's the route you're going to go.

My fiancées family is all from New Orleans so I thought it would be a perfect theme for a New Orleans wedding. I only plan to wear it for a while at a time but the problem is so I go with the wedding colors or white to be more traditional.

I'd go with blue; you need a "something blue" anyway!

All I can think about is how the mask will rub off your makeup. Aren't there alot of other NOLA traditions you can incorporate? Like the second line, etc?

Masks will get hot. Not only will your make-up be a mess, but also your BMs'. Are you expecting guests to wear masks?

I was in a wedding that did a masquerade ball type reception and here's the thing with masquerade masks. They are super uncomfortable unless you get an expensive one. You have to make sure your hair is done in a way that it won't interfere with the mask being put on. It is extremely difficult to eat in them. Most of the bridal party wore them for the entrance and then took them off. It seems like a cool idea but in practice not such a good idea.

But isn't make up getting messed up kind of a moot point if you're wearing a mask?

I think this sounds like a ton of fun! What if you did a white mask with the Tiffany blue feathers to just add a pop of color?

Go for the blue! It could be your "something blue"

Something blue is just fine, especially for an accessory you won't be wearing the whole time.

Jessica - she is only wearing it for periods of time during the wedding/reception. So she will be photographed after having it on.

Also - the rubber band used to hold the mask on may pull at your hair, which if you have an updo will possibly affect it.

I am very into makeup lol like literally my favorite part of getting dressed up is make up so covering my face would be upsetting .. But I'm sure not everyone feels that way so it's a tough one

Hi!! I currently live in New Orleans... And was thinking. I know there are some masks online you can purchase. Fluerty Girl had some pretty masks that were rhinestones that were selling online for Mardi Gras. I'm sure they're still on the website!

I would go with the blue one. You can't go wrong with more color.
