March is such a finicky month in NJ. Towards the end it starts to warm up a bit, but I wouldn't plan on doing an outdoor ceremony.

I live in New York and I say don't even attempt it. It's way too unpredictable. Our first dating anniversary (march) it snowed, last year it was 70. I also have a late March date and I wouldn't even think about it. Weather is far too wacky that time of year to chance it.

Yeah I'm in NJ too, and wanted to get married in March because that's when we met, but we went with early Sept because I reaaaaaaally wanted an outdoor ceremony and that time of the year it's too difficult to plan. It could be gorgeous, could be snowing or rainy/muddy. If you really want that, give it a try but make sure you have a back up plan and that you are going to be happy either way. Truth to be told you really never know, even if you plan for a nice time of year. We almost had a hurricane on the day I got married! Thankfully Hermine didn't do what they thought it would.

March is too cold for outside weddings unless you are in Florida.

I am getting married in March in NY - and you really can't plan on an outdoor anything in March - it could snow as late as May in all reality...

March in the northeast? I'd stay away from that

We're attempting it down in DE! We made sure the venue had a backup plan for us in case we can't proceed with the outdoor ceremony. Basically, we can decide the morning of if we want to move the ceremony inside.

My BMs are deciding over email on whether they want long or short dresses, and the two who live in PA and NY just stated they want short because it will be spring, so I'm thinking they're not worried about it being chilly. They're also aware that the ceremony can be moved inside if it's too cold.

It'll probably be too cold to out of town guest if you have any. They aren't use to that weather. I'm in NY.. too risky... and this year Jersey had a bad Winter (FH family lives there)

I'm in NJ too. I live at the shore. The only way you're probably going to get away with that is with heated tents..kind of defeats the purpose. How about a venue that's on the water? Clarks Landing is beautiful so is the Sunset Ballroom. Just a thought.
