Making My Wedding Album

Veronica, on March 31, 2020 at 2:48 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4

When my husband and I picked our photographer we decided to go with a package that didn't include a wedding album. We decided to get a wedding album on our own for our one year anniversary. Our anniversary is in July. Over the past couple of months, I have played around with different websites to see what they offer and what I like best. Now with a bunch of time off thanks to this virus I have decided to start actually working on creating the album. For this album, I plan on including 5-10 engagement photos and wedding photos. I will only be including photos that were taken professionally. I would also like to make a smaller less expensive album for photos that were taken by our friends and family. The problem I am running into is that I don't know how many pages my album should be. One of my friends that got married said her wedding album is 100 pages. That means like a lot to me. The companies I have looked at charge more the more changes that I include which only makes sense. For those that have made an album or plan on making one how many pages do you recommend?

I feel like you can’t really put a number on soemthing like that because it depends on how many pictures you fell in love with, how many pictures your photographer took in total, if you want to just do posed pictures or some of the candid. It all depends. You can always get a free album on Shutterfly! I think they have a desk going on mown

There are lots of sites that have great deals on photo books! Check out Shutterfly, canvaspeople, snapfish, and Walgreens/CVS to see who offers the best prices. It’s pretty easy to create your own books and canvases on these sites. You might also look for coupon codes online and find free shipping or a free upgrade. I create a photo book for every holiday and vacation.

Doing your album is such a good idea for your 1st anniversary...you'll get to relive the day all over again as you make the album and when you get the final product! I think the best way to determine how many pages is to figure out how many pictures you absolutely want in the album. Based off of that, you can play around with layouts to figure out the best format and style. Good luck!

I DIYed mine on Shutterfly. It's not as polished as a professional wedding book, or as formal as my parents' album, but it was easy and displayed the pictures beautifully and was affordable (especially because I ordered mine during a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale)
