Mailman thank you

Christine, on May 30, 2019 at 9:48 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 12

Has anyone given anything to their mailman just as thank you? We typically order a ton of items online, but with registry items starting to come in, I feel bad! Haha. My parents used to write the mailman a card every Christmas, but is it weird to give a card as "thanks for handling all the packages?" Smiley xd Also, my dogs are constantly barking at him every day!

It's unusual maybe, but I think it would be nice. My mom always does the card thing at Christmas too, so why not do one now if you want?

Our condominium mailman actually writes all tenants a card for Christmas & puts it in the mailbox, which I think is way too nice of him lol. So maybe Christmas thank you card for your mailman would be nice!

I think that's sweet! Uncommon, yes, but I think your mailman would appreciate the gesture!

I don't think you can ever go wrong when doing a nice gesture for another person. I am sure that he would really appreciate it.

We give the mailman & UPS delivery driver a $20 visa gift card every Christmas, in a card. We typically have the same UPS driver, and we always have the same mailman. I did see a cute thing on Pinterest that was a bucket by the door and said "For USPS, UPS, FedEx, and Amazon, please take something if you need it!" and it had water bottles, gatorade bottles, a few protein bars, and a few bags of candy I think?

We always gift our mailman and garbageman with lottery tickets every Christmas, and we'll pass our mailman a water in the summer time if we see him. I don't think you HAVE to give anything extra for all of the packages but it's certainly a nice gesture!

We gift our mailman with a dunkin donuts gift card at Christmas. It's not weird and your mailman will really appreciate it!

My office usually leaves a gift for our mailman at Christmas. But with 4 of us girls having been engaged/married in the last year, we're definitely going to need to something extra for him this year.

I don't think it would be weird! Just a little token of appreciation can really make someone's day.

(Personally, my mail carrier stinks. He never shuts the mailbox, my mail gets wet and sticky. My mom lives 1/2 a mile from me and has the same carrier. He hit her box and didn't even stop to talk to her about it.)

Yes, I've seen that on Pinterest! Mostly, I would worry because it's starting to get hot out. I'm going to look for a nice table I could add to the porch for that.
