Mailing invites to celebrities

I've seen it posted before that some people mail invites to celebrities, even the President and get a signed letter or sometimes they actually respond on the card with a nice note. Has anyone done this? I have extra invites leftover and I'm so tempted to see what happens. lol

    I sent out like 10 haha. Steve Carrell, Harrison Ford, Kate and Will in England, Weird Al, Disneyland, and others. Haven't received any back yet though Smiley sad

    We're definitely sending one to the Obamas. We're big Red Sox fans, so I'd like to send one to Big Papi and Pedroia also.

    Obama and Ken Griffey Jr! I might send one to a few of my favorite Philadelphia Eagles. We live in the same neighborhood as a few and see them around town a lot!

    My FH is a huge Griffey Jr. fan and would just die if we got something back from him.
