Mailing invites to celebrities

I did a Google search for the names and mailing address. Example: Michael Dorn mailing address. And it came up with some options. President's address is easy to find. lol

I want to send one to the Oklahoma Thunder, especially Kevin Durant, Serge Ibaka and Russell Westbrook. My FH thinks I'm crazy but, I say, it never hurts to ask.

This is AWESOME! I never heard of this before.... where would I find a mailing address?

I want to send one to Ellen, Dustin Pedroia, LeSean McCoy, Bruce Springsteen and maybe another.. I know they wont come but maybe I'll get an autograph or a note back!

I was thinking about it to couple of the country singers that are up and coming and are our songs

My FH and I are totally doing this. FH actually brought it up. He had the LONGEST list of celebs to invite. I could think of TWO... John Stamos- Uncle Jesse, because I am the biggest Full House fan on the face of the planet; And Bill Murray, because DUH! and if they get back to me... well, I just might die.

But other than that, we are doing the Obama thing, as well as a couple others

My sister works for Jimmy Fallon and she actually just told me she was filing wedding invitations the other day.. I tried to see if she would hand deliver one so he would actually get it buttt I don't think that is going to happen..

My FH father use to actually play Prof. BBall and now works for the NBA.

So growing up my FH got to meet alot of the GOAT and we attend All-Star and other events hosted by the organization. So we are sending some invites to some of the players and im sure they wont attend but just getting a response is good enough for us.

Never actually thought of sending celebs invite or even the President... but now i think ill send the Obamas, Ellen and my list my expand too more just by reading this thread lol ..

I sent it out to all of Matt's favorite sport teams and NOTHING!

Many years ago when my son became an Eagle Scout, we sent announcements to political people, sports teams and anyone else we could think of. We were pleasantly surprised by the responses. Created an album just of the notes and certificates.....

Now ~ he is engaged and getting married next year, so may send invites to some of the same people !

I think it would be a nice surprise to send one out to someone your future spouse is really crazy about--a favorite band member or writer. If you get anything back, it's a great little gift you could present at the wedding or something!

I am jaded from working in a Congressional office. I was the office signature signer for my boss. So I wont be sending one to anyone famous. I am inviting ten state legislators and the aforementioned Congressman though. I want real responses from all of them, not a signed picture.

We did! We wrote to the entire cast of Arrested Development because our wedding day is a fake holiday on the show...and we heard back from Ron Howard (like, within a week!) and Henry Winkler. We also got a postcard from Mickey and Minnie as well as the White House plus the Coach of the Carolina Panthers (our favorite team).

No word from: Cinderella, Chicago Bears (our home team) nor the rest of the cast of Arrested Development. It was totally fun to do!

Ron Howard's response was the first and we got SUCH a kick out of it! Ditto with Henry Winkler.
