Macys Wedding registry - notifying of returns??

ETA: Actually... she could be signed up for e-receipts with that transaction from Macy's. I ordered some shoes last week and returned them in store, and come to think of it - I did get an email regarding the return! I feel like that should be turned off for gift purchases

If you return anything else, ask that an e-mail receipt NOT be sent.

OMG that's awkward! Now I'm second guessing my Macy's registry.

I'm glad we didn't go with Macy's. I'm sure we'll end up needing to return something.

She got two separate emails

1 - alerting her of a return

2 - alerting her of an exchange

this makes me very nervous. We have been very due diligent on our registry and check and update often but what if something slips, or we get duplicates!!

Eeep that's awkward. Thankfully you found out because you were exchanging something damaged and not returning something you just didn't like!

Omgosh I didn't know that! And Macy's is where I'd like to register. Blah now I'll have to rethink that.

Eeks..I hope my guests weren't alerted, we only returned one item from Macy's though. (and it was ironically from a "friend" who isn't allowed to talk to me anymore because his wife is uber jealous and thinks he still likes me....(i rejected dating him, but we remained friends... )

Actually now that I think about it, I couldn't care less now if Macy's did notify them of the return (and i was a cash return not an exchange)

I used to work at Macy's part time. It all depends on how the transaction was done. Since they did an even exchange on one transaction...the payment still went through on her Macy's card.

If it had been done so that it was returned and you got a macys gift card for the price it shouldn't have sent an email.

At least when I worked there a year ago! Hope they didn't change things...that's really awkward!

I have gone all the thread and it seems as you all are having a good time. I know this thread much older and needs to kick out as it doesn't have any suggestions or perfect information. But many users like me will be coming over here so I would just remind all here that the time frame is 180 days to return and there are few products that have some exception.
