MAC or Sephora for wedding day?

FutureMrs.Dyson, on July 30, 2016 at 9:17 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 28

I'm thinking about getting my wedding day makeup done at Sephora ot MAC. I loovveee MAC, but there's no trial for either unless you pay $50. Has anyone gotten their makeup up done for an event MAC or Sephora? Is $50 normal for a trial? I attached a picture of what I'm going for.

I had my makeup done at MAC for an event. It was $50 they did a fabulous job. Lasted all day, through dancing and the sunshine!

If you love MAC, I would stick with them. I've had my make-up done at Sephora a handful of times and have been disappointed almost every time--mainly in application, not necessarily products chosen.

At that price point I would just go to a makeup artist. My makeup was $40 done by a professional MUA and it lasted all day

Don't know where you live but the prices I'm getting for trials are $80+. So $50 at MAC is a steal plus you're getting product for that. But just check to see if the artist is experienced in bridal makeup and find out their fee for day of and if they're available first.

I prefer Sephora to MAC in general. I just think their foundation looks better.

I love MAC. I have used them for several occasions. Find someone whose makeup you like to do yours and just let them know exactly what you want. Sidenote: I have the same picture on my phone. I want to recreate her hairstyle for my wedding.

If you mention that it's for wedding makeup the price jumps. At least that's how it was when I worked there.

I love MAC! If you go for a trial maybe the same person will come to you for your wedding.

I would go for a makeup artist. The pricing is about the same. I used to love Mac until I found out they test on animals. Now I only use too faced but my makeup artist uses Clinique and raves about it. She said it's the best for photos

@LaKessia I was thinking about that, but I think the company might have a problem with that.

@Aebi I always research that, but in all honesty i think all companies test on animals. In order to sell their products in China they are required to pay for animal testing. So any cosmetic company that imports their products to China, are testing.

@FutureMrs.Dyson When I was there it was $100. You still get product though.

I would suggest scouting out the MAC stores make an initial decision based on the artists' makeup that they are wearing and then ask the artist if they freelance outside of MAC. Be hush hush because they aren't supposed to take away from the MAC business.

Other than that. Call ahead to see if the price changes when you inquire about "wedding makeup".
