Lounge Furniture Rental for Weddings??

Jeanne, on August 12, 2015 at 11:27 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

Has anyone designed a lounge area or rented furniture for when for their wedding? We are ending up with about a P decline rate which leaves a noticeable "blank space" in our floor plan. The venue suggested cocktail tables but I was thinking of maybe adding a sort of lounge area. It is relatively close to the two bars (kind of between) and could fit a small seating area pretty nicely and conveniently. I've attached some pics of the venue and what I had in mind. The area would be behind the pillars off to the side. Does anyone know how possible this would be? Or is it totally pointless.

Here is the proposed new floor plan, the area in question is off to the left where there are currently 3 high top tables shown.

I know someone who rented vintage furniture for a "lounge area" for her wedding. It looked awesome! I think it's totally do-able!

I've seen it lots of places, it looks great, I just have no idea where to start. Or what style of furniture would look good in the venue.

Google "event furniture rental" for your area. as for style it depends on how you see your wedding, your venue is kind of modern/industrial.

I'm doing this for mine! I think it's a great addition and nice for guests that aren't on the dance floor all night.

FMIL runs an event rental company (in addition to their catering) and they have a lot of antique/vintage furniture that she makes herself. You can take a look at her FB to get ideas (she's in FL, so you'd have to find someone in your area) but it could give you a good idea! https://www.facebook.com/WhiteCottageEvents

I am! Though I'm renting 6 two-top café tables with wicker-back chairs, to look like a French café. We're placing them between the dance floor and the ice cream bar/coffee and tea station.

I'm doing it! I suggest calling rental places and see what they recommend. Most of the ones we talked to had different packages that are typically rented together.

We had a lounge area by the fireplace. Luckily, we didn't have to rent furniture since it had built-in stone benches, but we added some animal/nature-themed pillows and a faux-fur bean bag to cozy it up. It was a hit!

I think some vintage style furniture would look great in your space-- and you don't need a lot-- maybe like a sofa and two chairs?

I love this! I would have rented lounge stuff if we had our wedding at FIL's farm. We may have room in our venue, but I didn't budget for it so we will probably skip it now.
