Hi Anie! Welcome to Wedding Wire!! This is a great place to meet other brides, and exchange ideas, and just vent if you need to!

It sounds like you're unsure where to start in the planning process. Look at the website here, there are lots of planning tools. There is a pretty good checklist, that will give you a guide for when you should be doing certain things. Like looking at venues--should do that early on. Since it looks like you're getting married in 2022, you have plenty of time. First thing, get together with your FH (future husband), and decide on a budget. How much can you afford to spend on your wedding? How much do you think you can save between now and then? Then start thinking about where you would like to have the wedding. Another great tool here on Wedding Wire is the vendor search. You tell it what you are looking for (venue), and in what city, and it will give you a list of possible venues. You can then contact each one, take a tour, get their prices, etc. You can do that with a lot of vendors.

Good luck!! Try not to be too overwhelmed. It must be hard being in a place different from your home. But we are all here for you! Come back with any questions you have.

Depends on if you are going to have a wedding planner or not. If you are then I’d say come up with a budget, general guest list, and wedding theme so they know how to look for what you want

If you plan on doing most of the planning yourself (like I am) then I would recommend these things as I have felt successful this fair with it and my cousin who got married in Jan 2018 also thought I had a good handle on my planning so far.

    •Make yourself a wedding email
    Example: *******************@*****.***
That way you can keep all your venue and vendor info in one place and it’s harder to lose on your general email.
    •Make a wedding binder
A place to keep all your plans as you go. You can place colour swatches, wedding theme inspiration, hair, make up. So that way when you speak to vendors you can show them what you have in mind and eliminate some of the guessing.

This place has a great guide to help you create your binder and planning process.
    •Watch wedding planners YouTube Pages
I watch Jamie Wolfer primarily but I have searched for other video subject matter to see what other do and if there is something common then I know it something that I should do as well.
•Talk about your budget, guest list and Venue
Nothing can really be done until you tackle those three in that order I would suggest. If you know how much you can spend then you can decide how many guest you can afford to have and then know how many people you need to find in your Venue. Know need to spend $7k+ on a venue for 50 people but you also don’t want to book a venue that can only hold 150 people and you want to invite 200 people.
