Looking at first venue!!

Lexi, on May 20, 2019 at 9:12 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10
Hey Guys! So my FH and I are going to look at our very first venue tomarrow, an I am so excited!! This venue includes a ceremony space (with chairs), reception space with table and chairs, audivisual equiptment, a bar w/ service staff. this place has everything I wanted. My question is what kinds of questions shouldf I ask the venue coordinator when we take a look at this place? The only questions I have come up with are about the bar/bar tab, and bringing in outside food (How much are drinks per person? Can we bring in outside food for coctail hour? Can we limit the bar to wine, beer, and a few mixed drinks? How much is the estimated bar tab for 125 people? Is it possible to set up mimosa station? etc) What other questions should I ask? Especially about the contract. Any help would be great! Thanks Smiley smile

How many hours is the venue available to you?

How much is the deposit and is it refundable?

If you need to postpone, can your deposit be transferred to another date, or will you need to pay another one?

Can you host the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner there?

Is a coordinator provided by the venue?

Are you responsible for cleanup after your event?

UPDATE: So we looked at the venue and I love it. It is huge (can hold 400) and has a riser that seats 12, it has marble flooring, Full service bar, and outdoor bar and patio and pretty reception space. The Coordinator said we can limit the bar in any way we wish! Either by only hosting cerain drinka, doing a cash bar, or doing a certain amount, We can bring in any licensed caterer. And you get all that for 1200!! Smiley smile Now What I dont like, you cant bring in any outside food, including cake or deserts, your caterers have to serve the food, your baker has to cut and serve the cake, This means we cant have a mimosa or bruschetta station or have flavored lemonaids and that makes me sad. But I love everything else about this venue, plus the coordinator is SUPER nice. So now thats my new delema Smiley sad
