Long Haired Ladies-- Who's doing an updo?

I've shared in the past that I'm doubting every decision I've made so far. I've just accepted it now. But one decision I'm doubting is my hair choice. I really wanted to do a half up/down do. But then I keep seeing photos of updos and am considering an updo now. My problem is that I have long hair...

I've shared in the past that I'm doubting every decision I've made so far. I've just accepted it now. But one decision I'm doubting is my hair choice. I really wanted to do a half up/down do. But then I keep seeing photos of updos and am considering an updo now.

My problem is that I have long hair (a little past boobies) and it's pretty thick. The last time I had an updo, it was so much hair that I looked like I had a birds nest of my head. Hideous is being generous. So my question: Are there any other long haired ladies doing an updo? Can I see your trial or wedding day photos? I feel like all my inspiration updos are people with shorter hair!

I'm sorry for two posts in one day. I made the daily post today but now I actually have a question haha

I plan to do an updo! I feel you. My last up-do for a friends wedding was insanely heavy. I've since trimmed my hair a little and probably will cut an inch or 2 before the wedding to make it a little easier. Haven't had a trial yet though so we shall see!

My hair is just past boobie length and really thick, like two hair ties too put it in a simple pony tail thick. I'm just doing a braid kinda like Elsa's from frozen

I'm thinking all to one side. FH don't like it up, I don't like it all up,and my mom and nana don't like it down. So I'm meeting everyone in the middle

I HAVE to have mine up. There is no way I will be able to tolerate it being on my neck. I will be too hot and sweaty if I wear it down. My trial is next month, but this is my inspiration picture.

Since my wedding is in late June in Atlanta I'm wearing it up. I can't imagine what it would look like at the end of the day if it was down with the heat and humidity. Here's a pic from my trial!

Once I grow my hair out, I'm estimating it'll be around my mid-back somewhere where it was before I cut it. I was thinking of half up for the ceremony and the either a side braid or some form of an updo for the reception because my hair is also thick and a mix of curly and wavy and I don't want to have to deal with the discomfort of sweating while I'm trying to dancing and enjoy myself lol. ETA: I had an updo for prom and it was DESTROYED by the time I got home, so while I'd love an updo for the reception I'm not sure if it'll hold for the night without ton of touch-ups.

FutureMrsWelch, that's my concern! I'm concerned about it looking massive, falling out from the weight of my thick hair and being uncomfortable/itchy.

I have very long, thick, and sometimes very bushy hair. I feel ur pain. I was planning a low bun type hairstyle with braids. This way all hair is accounted for and it doesn't attract so much attention at the bottom of ur head like it would on the top.

Can I just say that I would love for my hair to be thicker to pull off some of these styles yall are doing?? I've got length for days (just above my butt) and no volume lol my style is gonna have to be super simple. Planning on half up half down

I did!! My hair is just about as long as yours and my stylist was able to pin it by tucking a braid inside the curls.

I haven't decided. Hair in make up is the only thing I haven't been super sure about. I have really long and thick hair too and my dress has a beautiful back but I don't know if I like up dos. I would love to do this, does this count as an up do haha

I can't decide either so this is y latest inspiration. It's a little messier than I'd like but I thought it was a good start to an "updo" when I would rather wear it down but am afraid it'll fall out in the heat

My hair is down to my hips (probably to my but by the time the wedding rolls around) and quote thick. I am 110% going with an up do. My trial isn't until August, but I'll definitely post before/after pics then. According to my stylist, the bulk of my hair will be anchored by two ponytails, then the rest will be styled around it.
