Long Haired Ladies-- Who's doing an updo?

I've shared in the past that I'm doubting every decision I've made so far. I've just accepted it now. But one decision I'm doubting is my hair choice. I really wanted to do a half up/down do. But then I keep seeing photos of updos and am considering an updo now. My problem is that I have long hair...

I've shared in the past that I'm doubting every decision I've made so far. I've just accepted it now. But one decision I'm doubting is my hair choice. I really wanted to do a half up/down do. But then I keep seeing photos of updos and am considering an updo now.

My problem is that I have long hair (a little past boobies) and it's pretty thick. The last time I had an updo, it was so much hair that I looked like I had a birds nest of my head. Hideous is being generous. So my question: Are there any other long haired ladies doing an updo? Can I see your trial or wedding day photos? I feel like all my inspiration updos are people with shorter hair!

I'm sorry for two posts in one day. I made the daily post today but now I actually have a question haha

I have a TON of hair. I also wanted to do a half up, half down thing, but decided to do an updo for all of the reasons listed before this. Heat, humidity, dancing, sweating, wind, etc. I had three hair trials and finally found a stylist who made the classic, clean look I wanted without it being gigantic.

I have long super thick hair that (down past bra strap) here is my up do! I have an illusion back to my dress so I have to wear my hair up. (This was over 100 Bobby pins)

I usually get my hair thinned every 3 months but stopped so that it's not thin for the wedding. This is the thick hair non-thinned up do!

My hairdresser recommends against up dos if your hairs long. She says it turns into a bee hive. BUT it also depends on the hairdressers style. I would do a trial and see what it looks like

Also you'll have 4000 Bobby pins in it

After my hair trial I went back to my house and then out for the evening to dinner and then to the symphony walking all over Boston in semi-windy weather- my hair held up very well- LOTS of hair spray! At the end of the night a few hairs did come out, but it still looked good 10 hours later!

The up-do. I'm going to do something like this since the back of my dress is to pretty to cover although before I got the dress I was sure I would wear it down, lol!

Make sure that if you do decide to put your hair up, it won't hurt. Whenever I put my hair up I get the worst pain in my neck because of how heavy my hair is. I love updos but I'm not dealing with the pain.

Thanks ladies! I did do a trial but I did all down styles because I wasn't considering an updo. I think I might need to do another one to nail down a style!!

I also have long hair now (my picture is old). I will be doing an updo, but won't have any trial pics til May 26th. It could be pretty hot out so I want my hair out of the way and I like to look of an updo.
