lgbtq wedding advice

Cassi, on February 25, 2020 at 3:23 PM Posted in Florida Planning 0 17
Hello everyone! We are newly engaged and planning for a wedding for next spring, early summer. I have not grazed the planning process to be honest😞 we do know that we would like a beach wedding. Does anyone have any advice on lgbtq friendly beach wedding venues in Florida? What are the best recommended months to get married and have a pretty, sunny and warm wedding? Not too hot not too cold. Thank you all in advance for any ideas!

Honestly most venues are now lbgtq friendly and being that the beach is a public place you’d just have to get a permit to use the area. I’d just see about getting a permit and google the best times to visit the area and when it’s least populated so you’ll have more privacy for your event.

Great! That’s a good idea to google when it’s least populated. Thank you!

Any venues or vendors on WeddingWire are required to be LGBTQ friendly

What area of the state are you looking at? Are you out of state? Anywhere in March is going to be gorgeous weather in March unless it rains (and even then it would be brief).

Hi Alyssa! Yes I’m out of state. I’m thinking Destin or Fort Lauderdale. Destin is where we are leaning more towards.

I lived in Fort Lauderdale for 5 years, I would put money on the fact that a lot of venues will be booked for next spring already, and it will be a LOT more than venues in Destin. I would also call a wedding planner in the area if you are attempting to book out of state.

Have you looked in the Keys? Almost every venue, planner, bakers I’ve researched are LGBTQ friendly.
We’re having our wedding in Islamorada @ Postcard Inn, we’re checking it out in person next week. Can share pics with you, although their website is pretty amazing.
I know that summer months in FL are generally less expensive because of Hurricane season and not tourist season.

    Hey Cassi!

This is where we are planning our wedding for this fall; Islamorada, FL - upper keys The resort is the Postcard Inn
The first few pics were from Sunrise this morning followed by late this morning as we viewed the property again.
We changed our barefoot in the beach to getting married on the private dock.

That is absolutely beautiful! What made you decide to do a private dock instead?

When we walked the property this morning and watching the sunrise it just made sense. My FH and I just looked at each other and we just knew

Hi congratulations! That was one of our concern when we first started planning our wedding, but a lot of places are open to the lgbtq community but for us we always asked prior to making any decision some vendors where actually helpful and told us of some that don’t do same sex ceremonies. Don’t feel stress it would all work out & happy wedding planning Smiley smile

Thank you Shirley I have been in contact with a few venues and that’s what I have found that is best, to ask straight out the gate. However, on here, the vendors have to be lgbt friendly so that works for us 😊
