Ok, so my fiance and I were going through our wedding binder last night, just making sure we are still onboard with all our plans/decisions since having to postpone. When I skipped past the cake section he laughed at me because he knows the cake designs are off the table because of my "neurosis" of having to make the design reflect the flavor of the cake. I don't know why, but I just have to make the cake look like it tastes! To me, it's like being served a piece of chicken, but biting into it and realizing it's fish... your taste buds just aren't ready for it! LOL If I see a bright colored cake, I'm automatically thinking it's fruity. If it's white, I'm assuming vanilla or almond. And if it's dark colored, you better bet I'm gonna be disappointed if it isn't something rich like chocolate or coffee! Am I the only weirdo that's doing this?? I’m curious how everyone chose their cake designs. Did you just choose the same colors as your wedding? Will the design be a reflection of the vibe/aesthetic of your reception? Will you be using the same flowers that are in your bouquet/centerpieces? Or will the design of the cake reflect the flavor inside?
