Keep your head up! Don't call anything off just yet; start looking for another job and see what happens. Things have a funny way of working out in the end.

Awww ... that's awful to hear ... nothing was worse than getting my lay off notice nearly 2 years ago when the preschool I worked for went under ... I wouldn't say the wedding is off just maybe it'll have to be pushed back ... keep your head up and know many of us on here have been through this, are going through this or know someone who has ...you will find something soon, in ways our economy is opening up again ...

I am so sorry - I have been thinking about. Have you heard back about the interview you were excited about a couple weeks ago? (my fh hasn't - he has an interview teh same day) You still have a LOT of time before the wedding, I wouldn't give up on it yet. I am thinking and praying for you and your fam - I know this is more stress then you need right now. Good Luck.

Oh hon don't cry... I know it seems like the worst thing that could have happened especially right now but everything happens for a reason I was devastated when my company closed up 8 years ago but then I found a job that paid way better and that I loved going to ... have faith and keep your chin up... everything will work out!

I'm so sorry for you, but look on the bright side, at least you were given notice and you have time to find something. When it was laid off, I was notified two hours before I had to be out of the building and I was shocked. If I'd had an extra month to look for jobs while I was still working it really would have helped.

Start applying for jobs. Keep planning, everything will come together. Do not get discouraged. You may be able to find lower cost options and more diy as well. Like my mothers always says, "When there is a will, there is a way" Keep your head up!

Even though it's devastating news to anyone, it's time to make a plan. Make looking for a job your full time job, use the Internet (if you don't have easy access the library usually has comfortable quiet surroundingsto work out of) to search job boards, ads, sites such as www.careerbuilder.com, www.monster.com, www.usajobs.gov, and other sites to search. Make a goal of applying at least 5-6 days a week, to at least a few jobs a day. Consider jobs that may not be ideal, but that will provide more than unemployment for the time being. Use a log to record to record jobs you applied to, with details on the company, date you applied, information about the job, so that when you get a call, you know what the job is about, and you can talk knowledgeably to the potential employer. Also remember it's a numbers game, the more you apply, the better your chances are, so don't expect quick results, and never give up.

Hey yall thanks... i have been looking for months now, before we knew the layoffs were coming... atl is a hard market to find employment in, as is every market.... maybride... REALLY? go somewhere. I guess what I am most upset about is losing my insurance. I was diagnosed in march with sle and pcos and now wont have insurance to cover those meds... which means i wont get my arthritis meds and i dont want to hurt anymore... i try not to talk about it because God my daughter suffers so much more than me... but its hard to get up everyday when you hurt... i cant stop crying.... i was coping with dec. 20th time frame the past two weeks but now 11/30.... ugh
