Late June/early July weddings-how are you moving forward

Amanda, on March 26, 2020 at 8:24 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 4
I'm not freaking out yet, because I know my July the wedding date might still be OK, but that doesn't mean I'm not impacted.

What are others doing/thinking at this point?

-I was going to order invitations this week, but it now seems too uncertain.-The chance that family can/will travel in is getting slimmer by the day, so my attendance is diminishing.-My grandmother who is ill probably won't be cleared to come anymore.-I don't have a dress yet, and everywhere is closed.-my mother is stuck on the other side of the country now, so I won't get that "shopping for a dress with mom" experience that we looked forward to.-I'm doing a lot of DYI stuff but am reluctant to buy more supplies because I don't know if this will be able to go forward.-I want to keep my date, even if it's just a small elopement ceremony. It's too soon to discuss with vendors, but I'm not so when I should.
When are you all deciding?

It doesn’t hurt to speak with your vendors. Let them know what you’re feeling! Most are very understanding during this time. Maybe place another date later in the year on hold as a backup plan!

We are June 27 and sent out our invitations this week. I spoke with all of our vendors and they have backup date's available, but they all think we will be fine with the end of June anyway.

Just an opinion but I truly think late June will be fine. That’s still three full months away, and a lot changes by the hour. Plus warmer weather is hopefully going to help eliminate the virus!

Hi Amanda! I totally understand your feelings, there's so much uncertainty right now it feels weird relying on any existing plans! ❤️

Right now it sounds like most late June / early July couples are keeping their original plans, but I can understand how the lockdowns affect all those other planning items! I think that including a note with your invitations or on your wedding website acknowledging that you're monitoring the current crisis and will keep your guests updated would be completely appropriate, and probably appreciated by your guests!
