Las Vegas or Florida wedding around Vero Beach area within 1 driving. How and why did you pick your location

Stephanie, on June 7, 2020 at 2:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
My fiancee mom lives in Vero beach area. We want a beach wedding but we love the fun of Vegas. If i could do a beach theme in Vegas it would be much easier. Im assuming vegas is easier on the wallet for planning as well as guests that come
This is both our second marriages so we want a somewhat traditional wedding on smaller scale. Girls have summer type dresses since its warm. I still want my typical wedding dress hopefully it wont be as hot to wear if i pick something not super heavy material wise.He said wear what you want to wear as long as your comfortable and happy.
Any tips suggestions if you had a wedding in either location? We are guessing 50 people may come

I am from Florida and beach weddings can be fairly cheap here. Are you sure Vegas is more affordable? Why not Vero beach wedding and Vegas honeymoon or vice versa?

FH and I live in San Diego but we’re getting married in Vegas. While reading your post, it was funny reading some similarities. It’s also both of our second marriages and we are only having 65 guests. FH and I go to Vegas about twice a year and always have a good time. So, we wanted something a bit non-traditional and therefore selected Vegas as our location, in hopes of having a fun wedding weekend for our guests.

Our wedding is set for 10/10/20. But, sadly, we’re at the unfortunate stage of deciding whether we continue or postpone it a year. Between the pandemic and current protests, having a destination wedding weekend in Vegas doesn’t seem very possible. So, the other similarity is that our Plan B postponement date is your same wedding date, 10/2/21. 😊
I don’t know anything about Vero beach. But the good thing about Vegas is that there are a variety of venues with different styles (and there are also standard hotel ballrooms, which we didn’t want). Although I’ve been going to Vegas for many years, I didn’t know Vegas from a wedding angle. So I went online and looked at all of the hotels’ ceremony/reception venues, eliminated many of them for different reasons and narrowed it down to about 7. We traveled there May 2019 to see those seven venues and the last location we toured had the perfect unconventional venue that we both loved.
As for costs, the different venue prices vary just as much as the hotels do. But since you’re looking for something more traditional, there were a few locations we toured that were nice but not unique enough for what we wanted. 1) The Platinum Hotel had 2 event locations 2) The Wheelhouse (at the LINQ hotel) and 3) Vdara Hotel has the “silk” ballroom at the front of the hotel with a blue wave type if design that would work really well with your beach theme.
Best wishes on your venue hunt and wedding planning!!

I got married in Vegas this past Feburary. I got married at Rainbow Gardens, 60 people. I wouldn't say there is a beach theme, but the outside venue they have has palm trees and I even said, I feel like I'm in FL. Haha. Please feel free to reach out and I can give you more details on my experience. They really made it easy on us and I felt like we got a lot for the price.

Outside of that venue I saw many options in Vegas for a beach theme. One hotel had a venue next to the pool, palm trees, and I'm pretty sure it had sand too. We stayed at the Mirage and property is beach/tropical themed.
Honestly I think you can have whatever type of wedding you want in Vegas. And we definitely had A LOT of fun! Everyone that came said it was the most fun and memorable wedding. People are still talking about it!

I will be getting married 9.19.2020 at the Aria which is an MGM casino/hotel. They have some gorgeous venue options for where to get married. There are some beach feels to a few of the MGM hotels so definitely take a look at the packages and venues!
