Large Bust petite gals, i need you.

My dress is the Melissa Sweet Applique wedding gown from Davids Bridal. I purchased this dress back in late May and had my first alteration appointment last night. Needless to day, I am feeling defeated. I have no photos of myself in my gown, but I am mortified. The lady told me it fit great on me.. the gown is a size 12 and I am typically a 6-8 street size. It was falling off my top half. I had to tell them I wanted it altered on the sides and shoulders. My bust is large, they measured 40. This is part of my problem. Since it is a plunging neckline I am terrified I will look too bodacious.

Additionally, I had just started my period the day of my alterations. When I look into my own personal mirror my waist and belly are not that big.. and I feel okay.. it is just my bust that is so large. I am fairly short (5ft 3). I am just not feeling confident. I love my gown, it is beautiful but I am having major regrets. My wedding day is August 28th and I am trying to figure out what I can do to try and diminish my bust size and make them appear slightly smaller and just... overall better looking so I don't look like a potato. Any help?

What about a lace insert to cover the girls a bit more?

That is a good idea. There is already a mesh piece the plunging neckline. Do you have any photos you could share of what you mean for the insert?

Maybe something like this but higher up with more coverage. If you need to get your dress hemmed/shorter maybe they can use a piece of fabric from the dress?Large Bust petite gals, i need you. 1

This is pretty. I will mention this. I am not having it hemmed but they might be able to do something for me. I was thinking either this, or maybe some tape? Not sure how well tape works... lol

Big Bust and petite here too! in outfits that are too boob forward, I use a bralette or tape rather than a bra. bras lift and push and make my boobs look bigger, but bralettes are light. There are a BUNCH of ways to tape yourself to make it so you still have a nice shape, but they sit a bit further apart so that they aren't spilling out of a deep v neck

Talk to your seamstress. There’s a tutorial on boobhold.com on how to get your chest as much under control as you can without spilling. I’m 4’10 with DDD that drives me crazy in everyday clothes do I completely understand.
