Can someone explain what that is all about? What are the responsiblities of a Lady in Wating?

The idea of a lady in waiting makes me die a little inside.

Ein - if you compensate her well (i.e. HIRE one) it''s not as distasteful. If it's a FRIEND.... yeah, I'm not big on that one. It just seems mean!

Hm, it seems to me a bm or coordinator/asst could do errand runs. But the lady in waiting could be an honored aunt or close friend who helps you into the gown and fluffs the train, and maybe helps you carry stuff. I would not tell them to get food for me or anything!

My only problem is I don't have a Mom or any close female friends who will be in my wedding party to help me get dressed. Does anyone know where I can find a LiW? I just want to get dressed darnit.

I have asked a rather new friend, we met during a course we both took over the summer quarter at our local community college, to be a lady in waiting for me. with her, i handed over the task of dealing with anything i havent wanted to deal with. or people i dont want to deal with. she seems rather happy to do it. i do not like to hurt feelings and am happy to have someone who is in a position in my life who doesnt care whose feelings get a little ruffled.
