So I've waited far too long on getting my wisdom teeth removed and now all four of them have poked through. One in particular is growing sideways and the other one is growing into my cheek. To say the pain is excruciating is an understatement. I go in Thursday for a consultation to figure out what we can do and when but when I asked her about a schedule of how soon I could get in to get these son's of bitches removed she said i'd be looking end of August to early September. My wedding is the end of September and i'm just curious for those who have had their teeth removed/pulled how long were you swollen for? I just don't want to get my teeth removed beginning of September and then have a swollen ass mouth for my wedding pictures. Priorities, amirite?

I was good as new by the following week. But everyone is different. I would explain your situation and try to get that done as soon as possible just in case.

I had all four removed and for me it was about 2-3 weeks that I was ok. It took me a little longer because they gave me a prescription for Vicodin to deal with the pain.. which we then discovered that I'm allergic/intolerant to. So the vomiting from that and pain med prescription change set me back a bit further.

    I'd get them removed asap.

I had swelling for about two weeks, but after two days, I had to go to the emergency room. Apparently my uvula was knocked during surgery and had swollen to the point of choking me when I tried to swallow. Hopefully you won't have any additional problems and the swelling will go down.

My cheeks weren't swollen at all, just minor swelling around the incisions and stitches.

I was swollen for a few days to a week and totally recovered by 2 weeks out. If you could move it earlier, that would be great, but if you can't, I think having it in late August/early September would be better than having pain.

I was only swollen for a couple of days but my mouth was sore for a handful of days. All 4 of mine were impacted and I got one dry socket even though I never drank out of a straw! It's the worst pain imaginable for your mouth!! You are left with holes where your teeth were until the gums fill over it over time. That can take a while so whenever you eat anything you have to make sure and clean them out every time. If it were me I wouldn't get them out that close to the wedding!

I wasn't swollen much just follow your restrictions and you'll be okay even if you're swollen for a couple of weeks the swelling shouldn't be that much people noticed mine but it also went down pretty fast I also had all 4 pulled at once

Took about a week for the swelling to go down for me. Has three pulled at the same time. No issues though.

I was a chipmunk for about 6 days, and the swelling was then only noticeable if you looked for it. Got mine out the Friday before Christmas in 2006. Then 2 days after I went back to school for the spring semester, I had a small infection re-develop and caused me to swell slightly again. Surgeon said it was likely a bit of food that caused it. Because try as we might to keep our mouth clean, it's hard to do because humans have to eat also. So my point is: be careful about your oral hygiene.

I didn't swell up for more than two days. But really you should get another dr if you can. That's way too long to wait for that kind of pain! Plus the bigger the buffer before your wedding the better, just in case.

I had all four of mine out at once with minimal swelling. My husband on the other hand had his pulled and developed an abscess. The infection constricted his airway and he ended up being rushed into emergency surgery to get put on a ventilator and was in the ICU for 3 days. Rare complication but it can happen.

I barely had any swelling but I had a lot of discomfort for 2 weeks, just got mine out! If they can do it 3+ weeks ahead go for it but I wouldnt go any closer.

I also had all four done at once. I naturally already have chipmunk cheeks, so the removal of my wisdom teeth just exaggerated it. That being said, I was swollen for a little under a "work week." For me, it was about 4 days. Fortunately, I had no infections, abscesses or issues, so it was ok for me. I think you'll be fine! Smiley smile

I had 3 of mine removed, only 1 was poking out at the time but since I had just taken off my braces they told me I had to remove them or else they'd make my teeth crooked my pain lasted a week in a half I was swollen and ppl would tell me it was noticable but didn't last longer than 2 weeks

Mine took at least two weeks for the swelling to go down.
