Kid friendly or Adult only wedding?

Yasmine, on August 7, 2020 at 2:47 PM

Is everyone (or was everyone) invited to your wedding? Was it adult only or were kids also allowed to come? My fiance and I are doing an adult only wedding with an exception to the kids who are in the wedding party! What about you and did you have a reason why you chose that route?

I get that! Our son will be 3 at the time of our wedding and he’s the youngest in our two families so babysitters won’t be a problem for our guests

That isn’t a problem for us! My fiancé and I have the youngest (who will be 3) and my sisters kids are in the wedding party. His 2 brothers has kids that won’t be in attendance but they ALWAYS have babysitters lined up!

I agree with everything you said! We have an almost 3 year old who MUST be in the wedding because I absolutely REFUSE to get married without my baby there lol and then my niece and nephews who will be 9,7,&15 will also be in attendance in the wedding party. Once it hits a certain time they will all go upstairs to the hotel room for bedtime!

Yes my biggest fear was a kid crying, yelling or throwing a fit during our ceremony

Yes that's the only downside, I counted 16 kids 12 and under and there are a couple more in the teenage years. If there were leas kids in the family, though, we would have been able to get away with saying no kids. It's not a big deal for us though, all the kids are always included in the family weddings, they'll be fine 👍

Does your venue offer kids meals or something different for the kids? I seen a few venues that offered that

I dont think so, but the kids should all be fine with the food that we chose! There won't be any infants that can't eat solid/certain foods. We also don't have to pay for the food allotted for children under 3, which is really nice.

Yea. Most of the kids are "grown" so to speak. There aren't many newborn/toddler aged kids.

That’s a perfect solution! You can have your child involved in the wedding portion, then have care-free adult-only fun at the reception!

Our wedding is pretty much adult only. We rented a place right on the lake that also has a swimming pool and a fire pit (along with alcohol). We didn't want people drinking and losing track of their kids or them falling in the water or burning themselves. I'm a worry wart and if there was kids there, I would be watching them the whole time instead of enjoying my own wedding.

I say go for it and enjoy your day! Smiley smile
