June 13th wedding

Christina , on April 16, 2020 at 8:11 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7
Help! We’re stuck on what to do! What are people doing when they reschedule? We would like to still get married on our wedding date even if it’s in our backyard lol. I really don’t want to get married on a different date. Do we have a party for family and friends in the fall or just say screw it all? Lol

I think it depends on the type of wedding you want and where everyone is! If you’re having a smaller more intimate wedding then it may not matter as much and you can take a gamble because the country may open up by June 1 even with current delays! Have you posted something on your website? Or sent out cards with the intention of still having your wedding unless something major changes? Good luck xx

    Yes me too! Lol

We are getting married either way on the 14th or maybe even sooner - probably at our church if we can’t fly to Jamaica like our original elopement plans. We have a reception scheduled on June 27, and my fiancé and I don’t care to postpone it or have it at all as long as my dad doesn’t make too big of a deal. We haven’t paid our venue anything yet.
We already paid for our cake/cupcakes though, and they don’t do refunds. So if we cancel the reception, our plan is to take the cake to church one day so everyone can have some😂

I'm also a June 13 bride! We're downsizing the guest list from 185 to 50, moving to my fiance's parents' farm, and moving it to July 24. Even that, I feel uncertain about. We made that decision because we felt like it was such a waste of money to have a big reception months after already being married. But that was a personal opinion/decision lol So we're not screwing it all, but screwing most of it Smiley laugh

We postponed from June 14th to December 20th. All of our guests have to fly in and multiple people expressed they they wouldn’t make it in June due to restrictions or feeling uncomfortable. We will get legally married as soon as our courthouse reopens because we don’t want to wait another 6 months. My FHs health insurance is awful and mine is excellent.

    Hi Christina,

This is definitely a crazy stressful and uncertain time for everyone! It seems like a lot of June brides are waiting a few more weeks before making postponement decisions, but everyone's situation is different and it never hurts to be proactive about plan b!

You also aren't alone right now! ❤️

There are a ton of June brides also talking about their Covid-19 concerns in these discussions:

    June 2020 brides: freaking out?

June and July Brides do not stress Covid-19!!!

I hope seeing what other couples are doing will help guide you.

    Sending lots of love!

    Smiley heart
