I think a lot of it depends on where you are located and how many people you’ve invited. My husband and I were invited to a wedding in Massachusetts (we live in New Jersey) in August with 100+ people and we’re really hoping they push it... we want to go, but especially because we have to travel and because it’s SO many people, there’s a good chance we won’t go if they do have it in August even if things are “better” with the virus by then because it’s just so soon and I’m still nervous 😣

But if you and most of your guests are local and it’s a smallish wedding then it would be different.

Even though we sent out save the dates to our 100 guests, only had a few out of towners, I think when I send the invitations I will only send to about 50 now. I am still shooting for July.

We are leaning about 90% towards changing the date. Trying to plan time to get dresses and tuxes fitted and altered, plus hoping a good amount of family and friends feel comfortable attending, and accommodating shower and bach party celebrations all in a month would be manageable, but super stressful. There are too many unknowns not to consider making the change. Best of luck with your decisions! Smiley heart Smiley ring

We changed ours from this July to July 2021. Too many guests for the current restrictions in our area.

We aren’t changing ours. We bought 125 invitations and will add a blurb for those that wish to zoom into our ceremony and reception and have 50 attend of thats all we can have based on WA guidelines. Whenever that happens.

Thank y'all for commenting it helps alot with knowing we're not alone in making this big decision.... With our family being mostly elderly we don't want to put out guess in any danger an even if they lift the stay-at-home order in Maryland they might not lift the gathering law of 10 or more people. So it might be a waste to have it in 2020 with CDC predicted a second wave of the coronavirus...Me an my fiance decided to push back our wedding to 2021...Best wishes Brides!!!

    Hi Andrea,

I'm sorry you're in this position of having to postpone your wedding, but I think your decision to get married in 2021 is a good one. When you mentioned your elderly guests, I couldn't help but think: What if someone got sick? It's not worth it in my opinion.

We’re in the Bay Area in CA. Postponed our July 3 wedding to October 25. I’m feeling relieved. In CA we’re certain large gatherings will not be permitted by July so I was just grateful to get a 2020 date.
