July 5th Wedding????

Elizabeth, on March 28, 2020 at 1:33 PM Posted in New York Planning 1 6
Hi!!! My wedding is set for July 5th, and I had planned on sending invitations by the end of April (about half of our guests live 6+ hours away). Now with the coronavirus, I'm unsure about what to do. Have any of my other late June/early July brides cancelled or postponed their wedding? I really have no idea what to do at this point. I live in Central New York.

Have you discussed this with your venue and other vendors ? I would talk to them first and see what others are doing

I have, but didn't really get an answer. They just said to wait until about a month before to decide. I need to send invitations sooner than that, though..

I’m July 4th and plan to send mine out around that time as well. Unfortunately there’s no way to know what will happen over the next month but I don’t plan to change anything right now. Worse comes to worse, we send out our invites beginning of May and then have to send out change of date announcements closer to July.

We are end of July and we are going to send the invites a bit later than we had originally planned. We were going to send them out the second week of May (with June 22 RSVP date), but now we are going to wait until the last week of May or first week of June. We figure that we will know if we are going to postpone at that point and want to avoid the whole sending invites and having to do the change the date thing. I'm still working on addressing all of the envelopes because those will be the same no matter what :p
