July 25, 2020 weddings?

Hello,

Just curious what your plans are (ceremony/reception if postponed or not) for July 25th, 2020 weddings? What state are you in? I'm in California. Our venue for both ceremony and reception is said to reopen in Phase 3 (which we now are moving into) according to the county newspaper.

I am having my bridal shower on that day. Ultimately, my family decided to still have the bridal shower even though we will have to drastically cut the guest list to meet the 25% capacity rule. In Texas venues are open but can only have 25% capacity. Eventually they will allow 50% capacity. Also, all guests will be with covered faces. Part of me would rather do a virtual shower, but my family insisted it will still be nice so we will see how it goes!

I’m a northern CA bride with this date. I postponed to June 2021 early this month..but I am eloping to Lake Tahoe with friends on the original day Smiley smile I didn’t want to have any restrictions and hopefully there won’t be any in June. The future is so unpredictable!

    Good luck for everyone!

I am in Bay Area, CA. However, we are having an intimate DW in Hawaii, and starting to worry if they will extend the 14 days quarantine, or that we will have trouble finding a restaurant which is open to even have a nice dinner that night. We are just a party of 6, so there is no need to book way in advance for that dinner.

I am in Massachusetts and we just started to open up. My venue cancelled all summer weddings. I will be doing a micro wedding/zoom wedding and moving my big reception to next year. I’m bummed but I’m glad I get to keep the date !!

July 25th, 2020 here too. I’m in Tennessee.

Our wedding planner wants us to decide by mid-June. We have already cut the guest list to under 50.
We are getting married in a Catholic church. Through June 30th, our Bishop has a decree that states everyone has to wear a mask and social distance. Our church is covered in blue painters tape.
We are waiting to see if the Bishop extends the decree. We really don’t want to say our vows wearing a mask and have our family sitting in the middle of painters tape.

We're in NJ and not even in our phase 1.

Is CA doing county by county? I was under the impression there was a stay-at-home order through July? Maybe that's just L.A.

Honestly, I'd be very reluctant to attend any gatherings over 30 people through the summer.

This was my date and I postponed. I'm in Milwaukee. I couldn't get a really good sense of what would be required in July and honestly the anxiety was getting to me. We didn't have a huge wedding, maybe about 100 invited, but it is all indoors and I didn't want people to feel unsafe. I am sad about postponing, but honestly I have felt so much relief in making the decision. I hope that next May we know a little more, but I am not even sure we could have the wedding we wanted to have then.

    I agree with you.

I really think my fiancé and I will have to postpone. In my mind we aren’t getting married this year.
We have vendors that are very optimistic about July and my fiancé wants to wait. It’s hard to disappoint people with a postponement.
If we need to we will reschedule to July 2021. Thankfully July is a very unpopular month in my area. It’s the only reason I feel comfortable in waiting 3 more weeks.
Best of luck to your new May date. Hopefully with over a years worth of research it will be safer to have 2021 weddings.

Hi, I am just a week earlier set for July 17th in South West Florida. Currently we are in Phase 1 of reopening and need to be in Phase 2 to have a gathering of 50 people, which is what my guest count is. Currently some people are informing me that they don't feel comfortable coming since they have to travel and I understand, so if everything goes as planned the wedding will happen, but we will probably be around 40 people total. I thought about postponing but the future is so unclear. Regardless we want to get married on July 17th and plan to have a baby in the near future, so I didn't want to try and reschedule a reception either pregnant or with a young child. So I pray that things continue to open and people are ok with coming. I am just sad this no longer is fun and joyful, but completely stressful and out of control. Don't even get me started on the honeymoon Smiley sad
