Hi! Our wedding is January 16th, 2021. We are still planning and going forward as planned. Fiancé isn’t concerned but I have my ups and downs which I think is normal cause there is so much uncertainty

I planned a wedding for a friend this year in January. My top concerns were
Weather- if the roads iced or something dramatic.
Comfort for photos- the guys were fine, but the girls had on these chiffon dresses and even with the fur wraps were cold. Also, being in winter limited venues and prices. She would have loved a outside wedding, but it would have been too cold. Plus, I researched state parks, etc. that were beautiful and had a pavilion and would have cost only $200. But because of the limited places, the price for venue was higher. I don’t know where you are, and this was before COVID blah. So the things that could go wrong may be very different.

Hi Makaelyn! I think a lot still depends on where you're getting married on how big your guest list is!! Here are a few other discussions where you can connect with January couples:

Mine is scheduled for January 24 of 2021 and we are seriously considering postponing it. It’s a destination wedding in the Caribbean and mostly none of our guests have made any travel arrangements at this time. On top of that we don’t want people to spend money traveling if they can’t enjoy their destination and do tourists activities.

This is our date too! I am starting to get more concerned now hearing the newest headlines saying the largest wave of Covid to hit during the winter months. Plus my kid's school just shut down again this week. I wasn't nervous before, but I am starting to freak alittle!

We decided to postpone for 2022 . At first I was so sad and I cried but It will be worth the wait.
Where we are having our reception the guest list had to be at 50 including us and they were moving us to a different ballroom because the one we had was “small” for everyone to be in the same room.

January 2022 bride here!! Our biggest concern is the weather. We live in Georgia, and the weather is so finicky, we never know what we're going to get until the day of! Our ceremony will be outside, so we're just worried about it being too chilly for our guests. (in our area, the average for the afternoon's in Jan. is upper 50's-low 60's).

Thankfully our area isn't too restrictive due to COVID (knock on wood), so our venue and vendors have not made any changes to their normal contracts/routine!

When did you decide to postpone? All of the schools in our area just shut down again and our venue said the same thing: no more than 50 guests and everyone has to wear masks. I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on a beautiful wedding for everyone to be uncomfortable and leave in the first hour (because I know that's how I would feel if I had to wear a mask while dancing!) What date did you postpone to?
