It seems like more 2020 brides who pushed to 2021 are pushing their weddings back to 2022 due to COVID so it makes me wonder if my February 2022 date would be even "somewhat" safe. Im planning on 80-100 guests. Any Winter/Spring Brides nervous about COVID the 1st half of 2022? Or are you confident...

Any Winter/Spring Brides nervous about COVID the 1st half of 2022? Or are you confident that we'll be somewhat(not completely) normal?

I’m not that concerned. my fiancé and I have been engaged since July 2020 and we set our date for January 2022 due to Covid concerns. I would like to think that with the vaccine 22 should be a lot safer but I think an assessment closer to the time would determine if people wear a mask or not. We plan to have about 175.

I also have a Jan date and feel the same. I believe a lot can improve in a year so I’m not really concerned. Congrats on your wedding. I also started planning early too, people thought I was crazy lol

Hi Whitney! I agree, and many people I know have gotten the vaccine already, so hopefully with the vaccine becoming more available, we'll see some improvement! Congrats on your wedding as well, and yes, my friends were shocked but also impressed that we've gotten so much done already lol!

Planning as I would normally for now. Backup plan is to reduce the guest list to just local guests and have it outdoors, if necessary. We will not be cancelling. We put that on our wedding website.

My fiance and I were just talking about this the other day! Our wedding is May 14, 2022, so we are staying as positive as possible, assuming life will be back to normal; our vendors are hopeful and operating as such as well. However, there is definitely that fear in the back of our heads we may run into some COVID related issues.

My guest list will be about 175 as well. Engaged same time as you too! We have the same plan. Worst case scenario is reducing the guest list and making other adjustments but not cancelling.

Yeah I'm nervous as heck. We are about to put our deposits on all our vendors but I'm nervous. My fiancé says just to do it but I'm still weary we won't even get to have a wedding as planned. We've already checked the cancelation policies with our vendors and venue so we feel comfortable but still.. It's scary!

April 9, 2022! Things will probably never be normal again but I hope more controlled. Either way we are still having our wedding!

Same date for us! I'm hopeful but like you, if we have to cut back the list we will based on who we know is practicing social distancing etc. I am super high risk so I'm not risking to see certain people I know are iffy 🤣

My wedding is planned for May of 2022. My fiance and I are pretty confident that things will be at least half way normal by then. Our thoughts are that the vaccination has been released and a vast majority of people are going to take it. As long as the vaccination works (VA hospital gives paperwork that says there is no proof that it will work) it will begin to look more like chicken pox. People will still get covid but it will be a lot less people than now. The people who do get it then are making a choice not to get the vaccine. We may be 100% wrong in our assumptions. We are having an outdoor wedding and are expecting 100-120 guest. Luckily our venue has lots of land and we can accommodate that number of people and social distancing if we have to. So we should not have to cancel our wedding. We may have to cancel the reception or replan it. One of my sister's got married in Sept of 2020 and my other sister is planning to get married May of 2021 and neither of them are disappointed that they did not have a big wedding with a reception. So if we have to cancel that part it will probably be ok. Are you honeymooning directly after your wedding? Asking because traveling is where our greatest concern is. Are we going to be able to travel, where can we travel to etc. Because of this unknown we have decided to wait until closer to time to plan anything for a honeymoon.

People think I'm crazy too. I have booked my venue, caterer, photographer, dj, made my centerpieces and my save the dates. 😂 I work full time and go to school full time so when I find time to work on the wedding I get as much done as possible no matter how far away it is.

My wedding is January 4th, 2022. I am having 50-65 guests. We spent an extra thousand to book a bigger venue. We are planning our whole wedding as though COVID will be a thing and making sure families can space out. We all thought COVID would be done by summer 2020, and now we are in spring 2021. The vaccine is great but it isn't as effective against some tougher strands. If one of those strands makes it to America, then everyone will either have to have a big venue to space guests or push back their weddings. If COVID is non-existent then or like the flu, then you have more dancing space Smiley winking and the ability to give people distance who still fear COVID (after a year or two or people fearing the virus, they still may be skeptical at your wedding even if it is a non issue). It is probably less of a big deal if you have an outdoor wedding because people feel pretty safe like that. Rather be safe than sorry. My groom and I are offering a live streaming as well. To be fair, I say it like this because we are mostly inviting family in families (groups of 5/6) and grandparents will be there, so definitely playing the safer side!

My fiancé and I are getting married on 4/30/2022. Yes, we're definitely concerned and watching how this vaccine rollout will go, but nothing we can really do about it. We agreed that we aren't moving the wedding date. We're looking at 150 people - or at least that's what we're currently planning for. I think we've agreed that if we need to downsize, we will. To be safe, we low-balled our caterer number (for sake of the contract) to 100 people. We just want to get married, so if folks are uncomfortable coming, that's their choice. Either way, it's going to be a BEAUTIFUL DAY. Can I get an AMEN?!
