ivory shoes with white dress?

A, on August 14, 2010 at 7:27 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

I need all your expert opinions. My dress is tea length and snow white. Who knew it would be so stinking hard to find a pair of shoes? I've found two pairs that don't absolutely kill my feet. One pair is snow white but absolutely as flat as can be. The second pair has two inch heels and look fantastic, but they are ivory rather than white. I really want to wear the heels, but I don't know how weird it will look.

Do you have long legs? The longer the better, because it separates the different colors. Can we see pics of the dress and shoes?

I think that if you were to accent with some ivory jewelry (pearls) it would be fine. When matched with the color of your jewelry, shoes serve as an accessory rather than a clothing item and it's permissible for them to be in a complimentary color.

I think that would be weird with a tea length white dress. What about something in silver?

I wore candy apple red heels with my dress..you don't HAVE to wear white shoes on your wedding day! Makes for a fun photo op as well! You could even wear blue shoes as your something blue, or find a pair with a colour that ties into your wedding party's attire. If you are set on white shoes, keep looking, there will be something out there, you might just need to expand your search! When I was looking, I tried on shoes by Satin Party, as can be assumed, they were all satin, and very comfortable, even in higher heels like 3 1/4"! I am NOT a heel person, but I could see myself being able to wear those all day. There were many cute styles, and mostly all came in white. Maybe a shoe store in your area carries this brand or could order them in?

I honestly don't think people will be examining your shoes enough to be able to see the difference. White and ivory are so closely related. AND- if you're really worried about the color difference, you can have the shoes dyed (if they are fabric) for pretty cheap. Good luck!

I will be wearing leopard print pumps on my tootsies & they wont match a thing! It's just exactly what I wanted!

Colored shoes would be amazing with a tea length dress (a color that ties into your bouquet?)

My color scheme was ivory & peach. My tea-length gown was ivory and I had shoes dyed peach.

I would def. not wear ivory with white! Your dress will make your shoes look dirty. But are they satin is so you may be able to dye them a color of your wedding or they could be your something blue.
