I am not having a veil. I hate to have my face covered by anything. I think the history behind the veil had something to do with purity and the acceptance of the bride. I have noticed to that nobody really covers their face with it anymore.

I went to a wedding last year where the bride wore the veil over her face. It's called a 'blusher' veil. I think that a lot of trends come and go in weddings, but that's definitely a classic. If you want to do it, do it!

I wore the veil over my face. It comes from back when marriages were arranged and in order to make it so the groom couldn't object and get away until it's too late the bride wore a veil. Now it's more of a preference.

I am only because fh told me he wanted me to. he has not given much input so i had to. the history behind it is back when arranged marriages were around the groom did not know who the bride was so the veil was used to disguise her face until the end of the wedding when he could no longer back out if he didnt like her.

I don't know why, but DS and I both were really into wearing the veil over my face. My dad lifted it at the end of the aisle so it wouldn't get in the way. It took me forever to find a veil that wasn't poofy up top so that it wouldn't look weird to me over my face, too, but I got it and I loved it!

I recently officiated a wedding where the bride wanted the groom to lift her veil at the beginning of the ceremony. Of course, he had trouble with it so the MOH and I had to help smooth it.

I wasn't going to but my mom really wants me to plus I think it will be nice to have my dad pull it back for me. I've tried on my dress while wearing it with the veil over my face and I could still see everything fine.

Im going to wear a blusher (veil over the face). I heard the meaning behind it is.. so no negativity can get to you while your father is handing you to your love of your life.

I have always wanted a veil that covered my face and still do but the only thing that has me 2nd guessing right now is the extra money involved in getting an attachment.

I am wearing a veil, but not over my face. Really I am paying a fortune to wear something only for about 30 minutes. LOL. I plan to sell it afterward to be honest. But I think that some blusher veils are beautiful, especially in an elegant wedding.

I wasn't going to do the viel over the face because Im really not into the traditional but my mom really wanted it and it doens't hurt me at all to make her happy by wearing it that way. My cathedral veil is 2 tier so I will just use the small tier to cover my face I guess its good for some drama but its totally up to you I don't see alot of brides do it anymore either but I think its because no one really wants some fabric all in your face but its only for a few minutes so I guess its ok

I am doing a blusher veil, but I am going to make it to save money. The one I want is separate from my real veil and has a little comb on it. That way I can have a blusher and not mess up my hair trying to flip it back and forth.

My cousin just wore it this weekend, I'm planning on wearing it next year, I love that part where the dad lifts it and gives his daughter one last kiss before she becomes a Mrs. Smiley smile

Wow never really thought about it, but that's a good question. The trend now a days is without a veil or small net. All in all, its really your day so what ever you feel like doing. Me.... bare face. Awww man!!!!! Now I'm thinking about wearing.

I know this may sound a bit cheesy but it is tradition in my mothers family to give the blusher to your dad and have it in a box that has a note that says "thank you for my husband". I always thought it was cute but many of my friends laugh at me when I tell them that Smiley tongue

I'm not doing it. Not because I think it's too traditional..but for completely vain reasons. I'm gonna spend a hefty dollar on getting make up and hair done..so..why hide my face as I walk down the aisle? I wanna strut ma stuff when I walk down and will not mind all eyes on me.hehhheehe Smiley smile
