I am wearing a blusher. The only time I cried when I was dress shopping was when the consultant started talking about dad giving me away, and that is his little "duty" he gets, is to lift the blusher and give me a kiss before he gives me away.

I didn't wear a veil at all. I don't like things covering my face, especially not a bunch of fabric. So I wore my pretty blue tiara instead.

It is traditional. In the bible Jacob was tricked into marrying Leah instead of Rachel. The father is supposed to lift the viel as a symbol of proving to the Groom that he's getting the right girl.

I'm having to veils, my blusher was about 20 dollars and my veil was almost 200. Kinda ridiculous! But i think i look classic, and i want my dad to have a special part in the ceremony. i'm not wearing any veil to the reception though, i have a hair piece that was a gift from my godmother.

    1. Dad can totally lift and push back the blusher before "passing her off" to the groom. problem..not all dad's are good at this, so PRACTICE...lift high , up and over.

    2. The blusher can be lifted (up, high, and over) by the groom just before the vows, or AFTER the pronouncement (you are husband and wife)and just before the kiss

    3. If groom is lifting, the blusher can be slightly lifted or not for dad to give a kiss after escorting the bride.

    4. The blusher doesn't hide your lovely make-up! And, almost no one will see your lovely make-up until the reception anyway.

I am wearing a 2 tier long veil. That sucker is definitely going over my face. A complete show stopper. The fact that not many brides choose to wear them anymore made it that much more exciting! P.s. I’m wearing a grand ball gown. 😁👸👰
