Is there something in between a maid of honor and a bridesmaid?

Ive wanted my sister to be my moh my whole life but she lives across the country so she wouldn't be very helpful in the planning part of my wedding, so my best friend is the acting moh while my sister isn't here. Is there a title that's more than a bridesmaid but not moh?

Could you make them both maids of honor? I have two MOHs and it's worked out great.

I agree with Beth, you can make your best friend a MOH as well... nothing wrong with multiple ones! (I have my 3 best friends all as MOHs).

You could have more than one MOH. Or, your friend could be your matron of honor if she's married.

What mrsa2b said. If you want to honor both girls, then make them both maids 'of honor'. It's just an honorary title, not a job position.

You can just appoint them both as MOH, its pretty common now to have more than one. The only real difference is how you choose to refer to them and the extra responsibility they traditionally have over the other BMs.
