Wow, again, thank you!!! Some more backstory: I loved the dress when I had it on...I had never felt so beautiful and comfortable in myself. The naysayers were 2 members of FH's family, mom & grandma (they were not at the appointment, showed them pics after). So when I keep thinking about walking down the aisle, I have nightmares of his side of the family thinking less of me, judging me, etc. I already care too much about what other people think, especially his family. Does not help that there was drama surrounding the purchase of the dress. My future MIL was very unhappy with me since my future SIL was not present when the dress was bought. That could also be a reason she is also very unenthusiastic about the dress. I just have to keep remembering that it's about what makes ME happy, which has been the most difficult part of this whole wedding process. I'm too much of a people pleaser and unfortunately I just can't make everyone happy.

Def don't think it looks too trashy or inappropriate. I think its beautiful and looks great. As others have mentioned, you could always have some fabric underneath the sheer parts if it makes you feel more comfortable, but it comes down to how you feel in the dress.

I just read your update. Not everyone can accompany everyone else to their appointments, fittings etc.

My BP is spread out a bit geographically and we all have jobs, homes and families.

In my case, I've spent more time attending to my BP shopping events than my own. (I'm not upset about that, either.)

The notion that your FSIL was somehow slighted is a bit ridiculous and your FMIL needs to chill out.

I think it's beautiful. My dress has some sheer sections similar to yours which I was uncomfortable with. I had the bridal shop order a yard of extra fabric from the under layer of my dress to sew in. I was okay with the sheer on the back, but not under my arms/boobs.
