Is it Me or Do All Wedding Dresses Look Alike.

LeKisha, on August 9, 2021 at 4:02 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 26

I know it's probably absurd to think that wedding dresses would be drastically different; however, outside of the silhouette and finishes it feels all the same.

I want something different but as I browse dress after dress in search of that perfect jaw dropping two-hour white or ivory garb - I've yet to find soemthing that floors me.

What makes your dress different or stand out from all others? Is it the brand, length, accessories, beading, fabric, cost. How did you choose probably one of the most important dresses of your life?

Thanks for sharing!

I have a dream dress in mind and love it on the model because it's figure flattering and isn't covered in flowers. What draws you will be different of course, but choose ONE aspect that you want in a dress and look for that one detail. Also, you don't have to wear white. Choose a different colored dress if you're not into white or just wanna stand out/be different.

I wanted something simple - no lace, no beads, no frou-frou and I wanted a-line or ballgown. I tried on a half a dozen dresses that met these basic requirements and when I found mine I didn't want to take it off. Ever.

I sort of have the same view as you. However, I have fallen in love with Pallas Collective. Probably some of the most unique dresses I have seen and am considering splurging.

I'm what makes my dress stand out from the others. It fits me (personality, figure, height/weight) perfectly and that's the best way to describe it. Is it another wedding dress in the grand scheme of wedding dresses? Yes. But is it special to me despite having lace, beading, peach floral embroidery and being a ballgown? Yes.

For me, I knew I wanted spaghetti straps (not super common) and some kind of detailed skirt (ended up with horsehair). I knew I didn’t want a skirt with zero texture that just went to the floor. When I tried my dress on, it ticked every single box so perfectly that even now when I’ve browsed other gowns for fun or when shopping with friends, I’ve never seen a dress I liked ever near as much as mine.

That's part of the reason I picked a black dress and went to a local designer.

I picked a simpler dress and honestly, it's one I've seen multiple girls wear on here, I've seen a few people on Facebook in it as well. But it's what I felt beautiful in and I know it's going to remain timeless throughout the years. I'm not really trendy or anything with my clothing though, so I was okay with something a little simpler and it didn't matter to me that others had my dress at some point.

Mine has pockets! haha It's also not a mass-produced designer dress. This specific style/dress was made special for the boutique I bought from. So, while I'm sure there are a handful of brides who have worn the same dress (and will as time goes on---the shop has only been around for 2 years), I haven't seen a lot of pictures of brides wearing it.

Its super hard to get that feeling from looking at pictures of dresses online. You probably will get that feeling once its on your body. Go try on some dresses in person (doesn't have to be a big official dress shopping thing), and you might get more of an idea of what you're after.

I wanted something vintage, not a gown and tea length. I saw a lot online but local stores didn’t have many options.
I was looking up vintage dresses on etsy and saw a pattern of my dream dress, sent it to my daughter to tell her to be on the lookout and she said “Why don’t I make it?” She’s very good, and makes corsets, etc.
I feel like that makes my dress unique and really special for both of us. I’m so excited! Is it Me or Do All Wedding Dresses Look Alike. 1
