Is it horrible that I'm NOT freaking out about my wedding??

Martine, on April 7, 2015 at 8:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 31

Okay so we decided to divert from having a destination wedding about 7 months ago, and decided to have a reception. The venue we chose takes care of everything from place cards to limo to our photographer. I get nervous reading other brides freak out because I've really not had to do much planning for my wedding.

Is anyone else NOT freaking out and just kind of going with the flow?!

I'm planning pretty much everything and I have been pretty sane. I'm expecting to start freaking out more towards the end! Lol we will see. I have a 2 year old and I graduate next month, so there are other things that I'm focusing on right now.

Nope. You're wise. I chose an all inclusive venue and the last year has been calm and wonderful.

I had a package like that with my venue. I had to find my own photographer and officiant, I already had a DJ so they just deducted the cost of the DJ from the price of the package. I waited and waited for a freak out to come. I didn't even start getting nervous until the week of the wedding and all the tasks were taken care of and I had nothing else until the wedding day. It worked out well for me.

If I could find a venue around here that did that within our budget, I would take it in a heartbeat! There is a venue here in Alabama that pretty much does every single thing so that you literally just show up after making a handful of choices (such as colors, ceremony type, cake design, food, ) and they do it anywhere from an elopement package all the way to a HUGE wedding package. If I could talk my FH into it I would so do that so I wouldn't have to worry about it all. Planning a wedding is stressful!

I can imagine the stress you ladies are feeling planning EVERY detail. I think you all just have way more patience than I do so CONGRATS lol

I agree, I think the big freakout will come maybe the month of the wedding. But I'm glad we've all been able to stay sane so farrr....

Wedding planning has been going well for us. I haven't been freaking out at all and I've really been able to sit back and enjoy the engagement and whole planning process. We chose a venue that was more inclusive then most and I made sure the other vendors I chose came with package deals. All I really have to worry about are the silly little details that I want but don't necessarily need.

Other than random middle of the night anxiety attacks, i'm not freaking at all. The whole planning process has been fun and laid back. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. The anxiety is that nagging feeling that I've forgotten something. But it's all good! Sounds like you've got everything under control and are just having fun with this!

Short of my family causing problems I have had no planning stress. That has all gone smooth. Its the needy family members. I am not even stressed about the day of. Which i thought was weird. I am 5 months out so that could be why Smiley smile

I've also been pretty much go with the flow. I haven't been stressed yet, but my venue is also about 90% all inclusive. Then again, I'm pretty happy go lucky in general.

Honestly, the only thing that has me freaking out is our guest list. That's because FH couldn't stay strong and say no to some of his family that wasn't invited -__- lol. So now, we are a few people above capacity and I'm praying for people to decline. Even though I have no planner, it hasn't been as bad as I thought overall.

I think it's very normal. Your personality is probably very organized and calm.

No freak outs here. Our venue is fairly all inclusive but I wasn't all that keen on the decor they provided so my MOH and I have DIY'd signs, table letters, flip flop box, cigar bar and we will be doing the centerpieces. WE're nearly done and then FH will drive everything to Missouri. I can't wait.

No, I think each experience is an individual one and we all have our wedding planning journey. As long are you and your fiance are enjoying this time together, that's all that matters. Being stressed out over a wedding is definitely not a badge of honor, I commend you for remaining calm Smiley smile

I didn't freak out too much... until the week before the wedding when everything started going wrong. luckily, everything worked out and it was perfect. but yeah. everyone kept asking me if i was nervous yet and i was like, "no, not really. i'm more excited than anything!" then that all changed... but then it was ok. lol.

We planned everything/venue was not at all inclusive and I never had a freak out moment. There were some semi-stressful times keeping everything in point and in place, but it never got too bad. If you're calm and happy--good for you, way to go!

I've been totally cool and happy with everything wedding related so far. I even have to plan everything myself....nothing included in the venue. I think I'm so stressed about other things in my life that wedding planning is a welcome break!

Currently, I'm basically stress free in terms of planning because I started planning early and have kept really organized. Whenever anyone asks me how the planning's going I have nothing to say and I always get these disappointed looks, like they're expecting me to be insane lol. I'm sure that'll come closer to the date though, lol.

I've been pretty stress-free minus a couple things (drama with a bridesmaid because she couldn't handle our no babies decision, and dealing with having our wedding during Comic Con weekend in San Diego which is one of the biggest meaning finding hotels was a mess). But our engagement will be over 2 years so I could really do things when I felt like it. If I wanted to think about DJs I could, if I wanted to design my menus I could. I also enjoy crafting so it has been fun. I really think a long engagement is nice to keep the stress down, or cutting out a lot of the details. Glad you're not feeling too stressed either, this is supposed to be a fun and happy time!

Envy you. To choosing wedding dress and to prepare invitations were already tired me out. Seldom in my life have I met so calm bride. You must be a orderly woman. Have you ever panic of something?
