Is it better to have your ring half a size big and a little loose or take the chance of fingers swelling later

My ring is half a size big ( I had it sized that way because I have this strange fear that my fingers will swell or get bigger and not fit) should I get it resized to fit and my fingers may swell later or just keep it a little loose? I need advice please and thank you

I'd say go larger. I couldn't even wear my rings, the later half of my pregnancy. My Mom can't wear her engagement ring almost, because it's almost 1 size too small, after 40 years.

Are the sizing beads comfortable? I think I should have these done when I get my rings soldered, but I worry they'd jab or feel weird.

I got my ring re-sized right after we got engaged and then it was still too big. I mean to the point it was falling off my finger (which is unacceptable after being re-sized once). The jeweler gave me the ring guard for now until it gets warmer and my fingers swell a little. I will then get it re-sized for the 2nd time. I think I'll probably still need the ring guard in the winter months because my fingers are soo tiny.

My ring is about a half size too large. I much prefer it because my fingers swell whenever it gets hot and humid out. I can easily put a little temporary rubber sizer on, but there is no quick fix for a too small ring.

Beth, you won't feel the sizing beads at all. Bonus, they help to keep the stone on the top of your finger instead of sliding down on one side or the other.

I got a plastic ring fitter on amazon for the colder months. Its clear so you can't see it but its also removable.

Another sizing beads question - How does the ring with the beads fit over your knuckle?

I'm concerned about getting the ring over my knuckle with them. Even without them, when the folks at the jewelry store saw me struggle with it, they asked if I wanted my band in a 5 instead of a 4.75. But in the same visit, they asked "why does it fit like that?" - "that" being falling off to the side and so loose I can easily swing the stone from side to side.

I have mine a half size smaller because I'm worried about losing it haha. Even when my fingers swell it's not uncomfortable

I am 48.. I lost 62 pounds 4 years ago needed to resize my ring half size down. Other than weight loss I have never had to remove it except when I hurt shoulder my hand swelled after shoulder surgery so I couldn't wear ring for 7 days.. mine is perfect but I don't have large knuckles. Ask jeweller what can be done if it's not about the knuckles being large. You don't want to lose it at a pool or Waterpark. Or laundry.. good luck

I have a ring guard on mine (that's what the jeweler called it but I always thought a ring guard was a ring that surrounded both sides of your engagement ring). My fingers swell in summer so I get taken off, then get it put back on when it gets cool again. It was $10 at the place I go to which was WAY cheaper than getting it resized.

It depends on what you're comfortable with. Just don't let it be too loose. I like my rings to be a little loose (about half a size bigger) anyways because I don't like anything wrapping tight around my fingers, hands, or neck.

I just got mine resized today! I get it back Monday. It was 1/2 a size too big so when I dried my hands, it would fall off. Super annoying. I hope it is better after the resizing!

I am wearing my mom's e-ring and it is 1/2 size too big. I had a metal spacer added to mine by a jewler, and it works out well.

I'd be worried about it falling off! I think your fingers naturally swell more in the mornings than the evenings... I actually didn't go and get officially sized, I just tried on my moms engagement ring and liked the fit, size 4, so I told my then bf my finger size and he just remembered lol

Mine is sized to a perfect fit and it's not a problem. I made sure I went to get it sized when I was warm and not cold since I'm more often than not on the warm side.

Mine was slightly too small when I first got it and the weather was warm (fall) but the jeweler recommended I wait until summer when it's really hot and only get it resized if it's uncomfortable then. He said it's better for it to be slightly small in the heat than to be too big, spinning and potentially damaging the ring that way.

Mine is sized correctly. Even with exercise it has not bothered me at all.

My FH's fingers fluctuate like none other and our jeweler told us that it's better to be loose than tight. It's an easier fix.
