Is David's Bridal that bad?

I got my dress from DB & my experience was fine, even in the alterations dept.

I went and it was AMAZING!!! and there staff too!! I got a $800 dollar gown that was $1600, just because I didn't like my first dress I ordered.

Alicia, your profile lists Marriottsville, MD. If you are close to the Glen Burnie location, ask for Robert. He was so helpful and wonderful to work with. He is not allowed to assist you in the dressing room so make sure you bring someone with you. I did not end up finding my dream dress from there so I can not vouch for the alterations department.

I didn't want to go there, but I did for my bm dresses. I made an appointment there after I had gone to another shop. The first shop and a huge inventory, at least 500 bm gowns. I went to DB right afterwards and was sorely disappointed. They had a selection of about 25 bm gowns and they were hirer priced than the first store I went to that carried Allure. The service was crappy and the dressing room was a flaming hot mess. All the gowns looks atrocious on my girls and i felt like the wedding gown that I saw people trying on looked cheap. But sometimes you don't want to spend 2k on a dress and you go there.

I have purchased a bridesmaids dress from DB, along with 2 other BM's and my friend who bought her wedding dress. We had a pretty descent experience. The BM dresses had no problems at all. They weren't expensive, they were delivered with no issues and alterations were perfect. The bride had a little trouble with the delivery of her dress. She opted to order a brand new one instead of buying off the rack; the first time it was delivered it had strange red spots on it...a defect from the manufacturer... so they order it for her a second time. Well the second time they accidentally ordered the wrong dress which she didn't know until it arrived. Luckily third times a charm and the third time they ordered it, it was the right dress and no defects. Overall it wasn't terrible, they were very helpful in getting it all sorted for her and never gave her any hassle, but at the same time I know that most brides would be extremely turned off by this experience. Its a lot of stress to have to order your dress three times just to get it right.

I think it depends on the store, I had a great experience at DB, my consultant was amazing and extremely helpful, I had all her attention and was not rushed or anything. She asked me all about my engagement and wedding planning so far. It was like she was one of my friends.

I think it all depends on the consultant you get. I loved mine, she wasn't pushy at all, and she was in my corner when my mom started in with her opinions on dresses. She just kept reminding my mom how happy I looked in my dress vs. how I looked in the dress my mom loved. She was the one who ended up finding my dress.

I had a great experience at David's. I had bought my bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding there first ($110 for a strapless, floor length a-line gown). When I went for my dress, I brought 2 BM with me and I bought my dress and chose their dresses that same day. My dress was $749 and the BM dress was $79 (wide strap tea length dress)

David's Bridal is just like any other chain store. Some of them employ awesome sales people, keep everything running great, and treat their brides like Princesses.

You also have the stores where the sales people are bitches, the store is a complete disaster, and they act like you're an evil troll.

My experience was great. I had a VERY sweet consultant helping me. I wanted to become friends with her she was so awesome. This was my second stop for the day and I was pretty exhausted from trying on so many dresses and pictures and taking in all the feedback and then trying to decide!

I found my dress and I love it. It was $500, and was also $50 off at that time. It's now $99!! Anyways, I will say that I kinda had to hang around and wait when we got there even though I made the appointment. And then I started pulling dresses because I thought someone told me to and then I was told I wasn't supposed to pull dresses until I was sized. And then the checking out process took a while also. But it was my sweet consultant girl checking me out and she was new and struggling so I didn't mind too much. I was just happy to be purchasing a dress WELL below my budget.

I still need to schedule alterations.

I went.. on a Saturday. Worst day to go, in my opinion. I had been other times as well to purchase my prom gowns, and a couple of other special occasion things. I used DB as a starting place to see which styles I liked, but I did not purchase from them. I always felt like their gown weren't well made, and that they looked cheap (even if they weren't), but I may not have had a high enough price point ($1000 was my max). Just go. Have your own experience. All stores are different. I thought the service was fine minus the fact that my consultant was overwhelmed with other brides, so my Mom had to help me get in and out of the gowns at certain times during the appointment.

I went there quite a few times. The only "bad" experience I had was when I went to pick up my dress, I wanted to try on veils too (I told them this when I made the appointment). The girl I had was rushing around and paid no attention to me. My MOH and FMIL were bringing my veils. It really didn't bother me except for when she came over and kept asking, "So is this the one?" I only tried on maybe 3-4 veils and took less than 20 minutes.

I would still go again.

Its really really dependent on location. Some are better than others. Weekends are insane.

Don't expect Say Yes to the Dress treatment, but you can certainly get a great deal. Also, see if you can find a David's Bridal Boutique store vs the normal-- they're really classy and a lot more "bridal" in experience.

I looked online and could only find one dress that I was slightly interested in trying on. I had fallen in love with Allure, Mori Lee, and Watters dresses online and nothing at DB was comparable to those styles I was interested in. I also try to shop small and local businesses when possible so a boutique was preferable for me.

The DB experience was NOT for me. I felt like a was at a dress mill! They did not have dresses in the color or style I was looking for. Although they did have many beautiful dresses, I felt that the quality of most were poor.

I also did not like all of the rushing that was going on around me, It is not a relaxing experience. They kiss your butt when you have an appointment, but the sales staff is so overwhelmed that you are a nobody when you do not.

Lastly, they ring that damn bell when you say yes to the dress lol. I felt like I was at a timeshare presentation! I am just not into any of what's going on in there at all.

I had to check it out myself, go have fun, & see what you think. I loved the experiences I received at the department stores best of all!

I had two great experiences at Davids. I can remember reading what everyone said and going into the store here and hoping it wasn't like people said. We bought bridesmaid dresses at Davids and both experiences were amazing. The first time I went with my MOH and BM and the consultant was awesome. She was fun and made the experience great. It was quiet in the store too so we got her full attention all the time. The second time I went in with my MOH, BM and Mom and again, it was awesome. We ordered all the dresses on the spot and they came in two months later. The dresses were perfect and were exactly what we ordered. It could not have gone any better. I would suggest for everyone to go to Davids if they could have the same experiences as me.

I had a good experience. But I had the luxury of going an a Tuesday at 11. So it wasn't busy and got all the attention I need. The manager even came and spoke to me. If you're going I'd advise doing the same week day during working hours.

I've gone to several Davids. I've never had a bad experience or bad consultant. They weren't pushy. I tried on tons of dresses without pressure and they happily exchanged my dress when I had dress regret.

We just ordered our BMs dresses... 4 of them yesterday, through David's Bridal on Amazon. The actual David's bridal site was acting up... then said it would take 4 months to get in. Through Amazon only weeks. Apparently my fw's MOH/Sister thinks she wears a size 6... even after showing her the chart... so I know we are going to have to send that one back. I'm sure she is a size 10 or 12. The one I really really wanted was on Amazon, but sold out of the sizes we needed before we ordered them.

I had a great experience. My consultant listened to what I wanted and was very quick at helping me in and out of dresses. When I lost weight, they let me exchange my dress with no issues at all.
