I am for sure! Our reception is at a cottage and most of the charm is the great outdoors. Plus I spent a lot on outdoor recorations and I just wouldn't know where to put all those lanterns Smiley smile But you know, there is only so much we can control - I'm buying umbrellas and rainboots just in case cause rain or shine I want outdoor shots!

I'm not too worried since ours is indoors, but I'm hoping for no rain because I would like some outdoor pictures.

I am getting married on Oahu and I understand there is a good chance of rain...I'm really not worried though, I hear when it rains, it is typically short lived and incredibly beautiful afterwards! Plus my venue has a "backup" in case of rain the officiant lives on property and will allow us to marry in his home =)

I hope it does rain. lol Just cause I've been told since the small church has no a/c it could get very, very hot in there. So if it rains, it'll drop the temp so ... RAIN, please!!!! lol Smiley smile

Think happy thoughts and keep doing no-rain dances. I'm getting married in February in Pennsylvania and even though everything is in one spot and indoors I'm a little nervous at how this winter is going to play out being that last winter was so incredibly mild. Not EVEN mild...winter was pretty much non-existent. PA/NJ/DE/NY ladies, be prepared for the storm of the century on February 13, 2013. lol

We were going to have our ceremony outside, but I'm certain it will rain if we do, so inside it is, haha!

It rained off and on all day on my wedding day, we still had it set up for an outdoor ceremony. 2 hours before the ceremony @ 6 it stopped raining. I must say the sky after the rain made for beautiful pictures and the temperature was perfect. I was worried that it would be scorching hot so we had purchased asian folding fans and bottled water for the guests. More afraid that I would pass out because of all of the "gear" I had to wear under my dress. Take a look @ the sky in the background of my pictures.

We had a perfect sunny day and then the clouds started rolling in during our first look and family photos. Our ceremony had very dark clouds and there was thunder in the distance. Funny enough our recessional song was "Here comes the Sun." It rained once everyone was inside at the reception. Such a blessing!

That was one of my fears when we were looking to set the date, then I realized that no matter how many times I checked the calendar, Mother Nature will do what it wants to do.

Good thing our ceremony and reception are indoors Smiley smile

Our "rain plan" is everyone bring an umbrella and a jacket, the show will go on! I've had a few nightmares about the rain, but my worry isn't enough to outweigh a tight budget that has no wiggle room for a rental tent. Usually the afternoon storms have quieted down by August, but the problem in the mountains is that with rain comes a temperature drop, sometimes as low as the 40's. We will be eating inside, but logistically we can't also have the ceremony and dance party I'm dreaming of without using the great outdoors. I just have to have faith that it will all work out.

That was something that made me really nervous in the planning process, since we wanted an outdoor ceremony. So when my FH and I were looking for venues one of the criteria was that the venue had a 'plan b' location. Luckily we were able to find a venue that we LOVED and had the rain location. Even though the outdoor location would be my ideal, the plan b location is still very beautiful. It is still outside, just covered.

Wow Melody. I hope the weather works out for you. For me personally, if I was invited to a "rain or shine" outdoor wedding and it was raining on the day of, I would be one of those people who don't show.

Our weather forecast was iffy all week leading up to our wedding. Medium chances of thunderstorms and showers, usually the highest % in the afternoon when our wedding was or even the evening before the wedding when we were doing an engagement session with our photographer. We really lucked out in that we didn't get any of that rain though. We had a perfect day with the temperatures in the mid 70s, a gorgeous breeze, and just enough clouds that the sun wasn't too harsh for photos or too uncomfortable beating down on everyone during the ceremony.

We had our Plan B for inside the mansion if it did start raining though.

Yes, I am so worried. Our ceremony is indoors, but we plan to take pictures at a park. I have been checking the predictions and can't wait until we are 10 days out so I can see an actual forecast. Clouds are fine, rain not so much.

YES, YES, YES! We have a tent, but I'd really rather not have the ceremony under it for convenience of set up as well as for aesthetic purposes! My grandmother's house, where we are having the wedding, so SO NOT BIG ENOUGH for 100 guests!

Hopefully it will be at least not raining if not a perfect day for our wedding.

Ariel you're my date twin and state twin! I feel you completely. I'm in FL and getting married in July so the thought has popped into my head several times. My reception location is my alternative in case it does rain. It would suck though because a lot of my DIY for outdoors would go to waste. Also I'd hate to have to take all indoor pictures. But I've sent up prayers so my worry level is down Smiley smile

I was concerned about it and it actually stormed and hailed on my wedding day. Good news is it started raining right after our outdoor pictures. It hailed really bad in my area and where the wedding reception was at, there were threats of tornado.....let's just say my day was unforgettable. Smiley smile

Ariel, here in Sarasota, FL, we get afternoon thunderstorms during the summer -- pretty much every day. So, I schedule my weddings for shortly before sunset -- it's cooler, less chance of rain, beautiful lighting for photos, and the crowds thin out on the beaches!

I was terrified! So I choose to have an indoor ceremony at the church and then a reception on the water in a building where ¾ of it was floor to ceiling glass. I just wasn’t taking a chance on the weather. But I was adamant on having outdoor photos by the water. 2 weeks before the wedding a hurricane came through the area. I was so worried the reception site would be damaged but we lucked out. However even after the worst of the storm left, it rained the entire week leading up to my wedding. I’m not talking about sprinkles, it was full on down pours where streets were flooded and my guys had trouble getting their tuxs because they couldn’t find a street that wasn’t flooded. By the grace of God, it slowed up Friday morning and completely stopped raining 2 hours before rehearsal. Perfect weather for my wedding the next day. But talk about stressful!!
