Is anyone not doing wedding jewelry?

Megan Jo, on March 5, 2015 at 8:07 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 19

Due to all the jewerly posts I've read today I am trying to think what I am going to wear minus my ring of course! I am thinking I am not going to get any more wedding jewerly. The shoulders are very blinged out and the neckline has beading on it therefore I don't think I should get a necklace. My ears are super sensitive therefore I would have to buy real not just costume earrings which arent in the budget...therefore I'm only really considering maybe a bracelet. What are you ladies doing? Also I'll post a pic. of my dress I'm case you want to share opnions! Thanks ladies Smiley smile

I did add the belt...it didn't come with the dress...if that counts as jewelry

I am doing jewelry because my dress is strapless and lace; so I am going with a costume ivory pearl set (necklace, bracelet and earrings). Depending on how you wear your hair, you may want to consider clip on earrings and a bracelet should be fine.

I'm probably just going to do very simple earrings. You could probably do that too -- even if you need real gold, if you do something modest it shouldn't break your budget.

I am probably not wearing jewelry either. My hair will be down and I never wear anything more then a small stud earring so I feel like I will be hyper aware of some bid dangling thing. As far as a necklace goes, the last wedding I was at the bride wore a big chunky necklace and it kept turning and was very noticeable when it wasn't laying perfect. Looking through their photos all I see is this twisted necklace and I feel it takes away from it all. So I am probably not wearing one either to avoid worrying about that.

@angela b. That is a good point! I don't have the dress for that type of necklace but a good tip for other ladies!

Bracelet and ring. My hair will be down side braid so a necklace would tangle in it. I don't wear earrings anymore so I won't have those either.

Your dress looks like a Maggie Sottero – I almost went with a Maggie gown that was very similar but ended up with an Allure dress – also lace, V-neck, low back.

I did not have any wedding jewelry. I wore my diamond stud earrings that H gave to me the previous Christmas and my watch that I always wear. I did not wear a necklace or a bracelet.

Two reasons I didn’t go with something “different” for my wedding day…

The lace on the dress was busy enough I didn’t need to dress up my look. I felt like if I had a necklace, bracelet or dangle earrings that I would look over-done (if that makes sense).

Also, I have an intolerance to metals so I usually have a hard time finding jewelry that doesn’t irritate my skin.

Do what works for you and what you are comfortable with. Smiley smile

I'm doing a bracelet, haven't decided on anything else. I was thinking some pearls FH gave me, but not sure how well they will look with my dress.

I am going with fancy earrings and that's probably it (besides my ring). My dress has so much beading and a bunch of layers, so I don't think it needs much else.

I had bought a statement necklace for my original dress, but my new one has a lace illusion neckline. If I do it will just be the small emerald pendent FH bought me for Christmas to match my wedding band. I also have a blingy sash. Other then that nothing; I'm not an earring or bracelet person.

I am wearing the necklace my Mom wore on her wedding day. I found it while cleaning out Dads house and I thought I had lost it forever! I will also have her rings on and my Grandma's (both) diamond erings pinned in my dress.

All I wore were diamond stud earrings and a small gold disc that has a small diamond and my new initials on a thin gold chain.

Wedding jewelry is pretty, but I wanted something that I could wear over and over again. And I do wear both all the time.

Love your dress!!! What if you did simple diamond studs? I am probably going to wear diamond studs or chandelier earrings (depending on my hair) and my ring. Might wear a Tiffany bracelet, if FH gets it for me. That's about it. My dress is fitted and long sleeve with a low back. With too much jewelry, it could be too much.
