Is there anyone else who is having their wedding in 2020? We’ve decided to wait until May 2020 in order to save money for the wedding. Did anyone have a long engagement? How did you go about planning your wedding?

I love that date, Paige! It sounds so nice with the two 20's. I would talk with them and see how they feel about it. From my experience, by that time they'll have most of their planning done so they should be able to take a weekend off! As for your honeymoon, you could either go right after the wedding or wait until after theirs to go and celebrate!

I would say more modern. Definitely search Wedgewood Weddings. I am touring the Fresno, CA location
Congratulations Krista!! I'm dying to hear your engagement story! Where did it happen? Did you have a feeling that it was going to happen on NYE weekend?

We are looking for venues..... At first there was no budget then I decided to put a budget in place. It's harder than I thought. I'm still thinking about colors. Once we decide on the venue the colors will come. You guys are doing great on your planning. I am a big advocate for planning. I like to know what is about to happen step by step.
We are getting married 10-10-2020! Got engaged June 30, 2018 and having a long engagement to save and buy a house this year! Venue is booked and they will do our catering also! Looking at booking our photographer next.
I know this is an older post but, we got engaged December 2018 and are getting married January 2020. The reasons why I chose my date are pretty funny. I live in Louisiana and football is everything to me! So I can’t get married during football season (typically August-December). I don’t like the summer/heat so that’s a no for me. I can’t get married during Lent because I’m Catholic. And I can’t get married too close to Mardi Gras due to the increased expenses (hotels, venues, etc). That’s why we chose January 2020. Also, my cousin was getting married December 2019. If not, I would’ve gone for December before the holidays. It’s tricky coming up with a date! In total, our engagement is pretty short it seems. We went out of town for Christmas and it feels like as soon as we came back we were a year away from our date! A lot of venues told us that people start looking at dates 15 months out typically, so I felt behind. Don’t worry about your “long” engagement, you just have more time to get stuff done!!
