Is anybody else NOT having a bridal shower?

I'm not having one. I don't have enough people to invite that live near me.

The very idea of one gave me the horrors! My idea of hell is having to sit around for hours opening presents in front of people, and trying to look wildly enthusiastic at the fourth whatever-it-is I receive that day. And that's even leaving aside the sexist aspects of them, if it's not a couples shower and open to men as well as women.

When someone offered to throw us a shower, we said firmly that we would not attend if they did. We had two (very tame, couples) bachelorette parties, and no showers.

I dont think we are doing the shower thing either, Just like at the wedding I dont want gifts.. We have lived together for the last year.. We dont need anything.. So I am asking my guest if they would make a donation to a charity instead of gift buying... now the bachlorette is already being planned by my future mother in law lol.. My sweetie... well if he shows up with glitter every where I know why LOL

I had a bridal shower but I chose not to have a bachelorette party.. I wanted to relax before my big day.. Plus I'm not the party type anymore.. I'm just saying..

I'm not having a bridal shower, no family in state and really don't need one since it seems like we have two of everything including houses, and no bachelorette party either not one to go out drinking or party girl

Heck no! I hate showers (in the bridal sense lol). We aren't even registered.

40 years old .. and don't really NEED anything and feel weird asking for stuff.

Plus, I too .. would be uncomfortable being center of attention. I guess I better get over that before wedding day!
