Is anybody else NOT having a bridal shower?

Bad Wolf .., on March 14, 2013 at 1:10 PM Posted in Planning 0 27

I'm really not interested in a bridal shower. Anyone else? All I really want is the bachelorette party!

Showers are nice to give brides that need things I think. If you don't need anything then I could see why you wouldn't want one. I personally have nothing so a shower would be nice but never expected. If you want a bachelorette party, plan it!

No.... none of my family lives in town and I'm not fond of being in the center of attention. Plus, I feel like it is a give-me-gifts party.

I will be having a bachelorette though, just so I can hang out with all my girls before I move

Edit: I also will be having a craft party.

I'm not having one, my family is really spread out.ost of my friends live about 3 hours from my mom and my sister who offered to host one for me so that doesn't really make sense either. We also just found out that my grandmother has stage 4 cancer so my mom has he hands full taking care of her. FHs family All lives about 7 hours from us so no shower for me. I'm sloghtly dissapionted bu I'm not going to be crazy and make someone host an event that only maybe 5 people will be able to come to.

No I'm not having one either, I just told my friends that all I need is all of you to come to the wedding, and don't worry about the gifts either, I got so much stuff that I don't even know what to do with it.

I'm not having a traditional one with like tupperwear and grandmothers, aunts, mothers, etc.

Mine is lingere and linen themed. So, I don't really consider it a shower as much as a girl's fun day!!! We are homeowners and its not a lot I want/need. I just dont see people coming in carrying: a home theatre system for basement, or a $500 kitchen aid mixer and acessories, etc. So, my friends kept it simple. Every woman wants to "up" her lingere collection once married and who cant benefit from extra linens in the closet. When I had my baby, I had FOUR showers and received hundreds and hundreds of gifts. This is proving to be a different experience for me, but I cant say that I mind it...

No showers if any kind for us. We've been together for 15 years and already own a house. There is not much we need

No shower for us. It is a 2nd wedding, so typically, no shower. Plus, we are combining 2 households. We don't really need anything - we're trying to get rid of it!

I am not. I'd be fun, but since this is my second wedding, it's a no.

I am not unless someone throws me a surprise. We live 4 1/2 hours from family so it would kinda be difficult.

Angela c.... ohhhh risky, I would never have my bachlorette the night before my wedding I wanted LOTS of sleep, and a groom who wasn't hungover.

I had a shower and bachlorette and loved both. (we also needed a lot of stuff, so gifts didn't hurt either, DH is still in school and I make like $30,000 a year we don't often buy things and it sure was nice to get a toaster oven, a 4 slice toaster, some matching dishes instead of my mom's old ones, real wine glasses not the dollar store ones previously filling my cupboards...etc)

No! I swear I don't want one and nobody believes me. Even FH. He thinks it's the same as when he asks what I want for my bday and I tell him nothing even though I'd be disappointed if I got nothing. This is so not like that.

We aren't even registered. We have everything we need and I don't need to upgrade...I like my stuff! And I hate opening gifts in front of people. So I really don't want a bridal shower. I'm a little scared someone is going to throw a surprise one. All I want is a kickass bachelorette and I'll be good Smiley smile

We aren't doing any showers. We have a house and pretty much have everything we need. And we are combining our Bachelorette/Bachelor party although we haven't completely decided what we are doing. Our wedding party is small and my bridesmaid is only 17. and we aren't the type to 'go out' without each other. My FBIL's girlfriend insists shes going to throw me a lingerie shower, but i keep telling her no. I don't like opening stuff like that in front of people!

I didn't really have either one. A friend of the family offered to throw me a shower, but since I live across the country, we had a brunch after the wedding instead.

My friends did take me out in January when I was home and my mom threw an "advice shower" with a few of her friends. It was nice to get together, drink some cocktails, and discuss married life/life with a significant other!

I'm not having one. My family is all 12 hours away and my fiance's family is at least 8 hours away. The most we will do pre-wedding wise is maybe get the bridal party together and bbq before the wedding; if we can get them all here early enough!
