Nope not at all! My mom is getting married is just 3 weeks and is using my niece as the flower girl (she's 10) I'm using my niece as a jr.bridesmaid in my wedding next year!

In my opinion, 10 is too old to be a flower girl, but old enough to be a Jr BM.

Generally, flowergirls are no more than 7 - 9 years of age.

My flower girl is 6, but if your 10 is ok with being a flowergirl, then it should be ok. if she is more mature and thinks she is too old, maybe junior bridesmaid will be more fitting.

I would say it's definitely close. Ultimately, it's your decision. FI's niece will be 8, and we were thinking that might be too old (we'll probably go with it, but we feel it's borderline).

My sister who is 12 wanted to be my flower girl really bad, I felt bad giving her the bad news that I had one of our cousins daughter be the flower girl she's barely turning 4 the following week, my ring bearer is our son who is 2. But my sister will be the only Jr's bridesmaid and will be holding hands with the two toddlers down the aisle.

I think it's fine. My flower girl will be 9 (almost 10) and my ring bearer will be 13! We don't have little kids in our family. My flower girl opted for a jr bridesmaid dress.....I left it up to her.

Forgot to mention, my flower girl will be throwing petals and she's super excited to do it. IMO your wedding is yours and there are no 'rules' that you have to follow, except to have an amazing time at your wedding.

I don't see anything wrong with a 10 y/o being a flower girl - she is still considered a "girl" until she is a teenager. I do agree that having her throw petals might look odd but she could carry a kissing ball or a sign, or she could blow bubbles to herald your arrival. Why don't you ask her what she would like to do?

I have one flower girl that is 5 and one that is 11. I didn't know there was an age to throw flowers...that's like putting an age on being a bride Smiley smile

My daughter 11 will be my flower girl. Rather than having her toss petals. She is going to pass out single stem roses to the ladies/ grandmas & mothers as she walks down the isle.

My flower girls are 9 and 2. the ring bearer is 7. My FH's nieces and nephews. when we started planning, we knew we wanted them included (since we dont have kids). The kids are excited about being able to be a part of it. My youngest sister (14) and FH's oldnest nephew (11) are going to be our Jr. Bridesmad and Jr. Groomsman...

My flower girl is five and our venue won't let us throw petals, so she will have a small bouquet to carry.
